I remember I used to play N64 at BBV. I played and beat Starfox 64 over and over again there. I also played PS1's Battle Arena Toshinden 3 there. I even played Astal for the Sega Saturn back when it was a big deal. It even rained outside while I played as a young teen there, and nobody bothered me or threatened to kick me out, either. Fuck off. You can still buy basic bricks in tubs anywhere you can buy lego sets. Licensing to Star Wars saved lego and is the reason it still exists today. And nobody is forcing you to build the flashy new sets the way they tell you to. What they are doing, tho, is adding new interesting parts for MOCs so people can be even more creative.
There are more basic lego sets available concurrently now than there ever was in this imaginary "good old days" that you either weren't even alive for or you have a jaded nostalgic view on.
