The keyboard looks almost as bad as the cancer on macbooks and there's no pointing stick. I feel bad for people who don't use pre-2013 Thinkpads. I've used quite a few different laptops, and I always feel hindered in some way unless I use my thinkpad.

I know I sound very biased towards Thinkpads, but Thinkpads have been the best experience for me when it comes to usability and ergonomics. The keyboard and stick can't be beat.

That said, IBM managed to cram a 2048x1536 monitor on a 15" laptop in 2003, which is still higher-res than like 60% of laptops made in 2013.
When a laptop's screen is shit, it is often much shitter than a shit screen on a desktop tho. Apparently in 2016 decent laptop screens are the norm, probably since consumer expectations in the smartphone market have skyrocketed, so it only makes sense the laptop screens have gotten better as well.

IPS monitors have very wide viewing angles. Which sucks when you go shopping for laptops that come in both TN and IPS, since the sellers never fucking tell you, so you have to look at it yourself to see if it's crap. I never really saw the point of people going over-the-top on CPU.
They always want the latest and greatest, with the highest possible OC and the best possible liquid cooling.
Even though all they use it for is gaming. And then their video card is running at the factory speed with the factory cooler.
Me personally I leave my video card massively undervolted to save on power and thermals. No point overclocking it since it's limited by... other factors.

My 580's factory OC is rubbish. Stock speed of 772, factory OC to 797. Thanks EVGA for +25 MHz.
I've managed to get it to run at 888 MHz at stock voltage, but for thermal/noise/power reasons I put it back to 797, and undervolted it.
And now it just sits there connected to my laptop all day doing nothing because I don't play games. I use it for image processing, and even so rarely.
