anyway, most of the dogs that night were in the same condition. the only thing remarkable was that kassan's team pushed through to the end. and the only reason they did that was because they fucked up and missed the next relay team.
in all honesty, the real recognition should go to the wheel dogs on both balto and togo's team. they do the most work

The movie honestly had fairly little to do with real life aside from the concept. Balto wasn't part wolf, didn't breed, etc.
One of the dogs that antagonizes Balto is named Togo though. So yeah, they not only snubbed him, but gave his name to one of the bully dogs.
