You could control one and give the others a list of very basic commands to follow (heal people below 30% hp, attack closest/furthest/lowest hp etc). You could change who you wanted to control mid-fight easy
I felt it had a lot of potential and the mechanics were nifty. But the main character's role in the story was so worthless and unimportant it just felt weird he was even there in the first place.
