It's true. 26 here, and although I still look at this type of shit, I'm desensitized. I sleep fine at night after heavy exposure to gore, horror, and scary stories. I had a "nightmare" last night about an infant being eaten alive by monkeys and still being alive when it was barely just meaty bones and essential organs. I crushed it's skull to put it out of its misery.
I woke up feeling no fear or uneasiness and had a normal day, unaffected by it whatsoever. I'm to the point where I always have lucid dreams to some degree and always realize that such fucked up shit isn't real, so I can barely consider them nightmares because I'm usually able to change the dream to something else and leave the "scary" shit.
I kind of miss being unable to sleep because I read or saw something creepy on the internet. Life is boring nowadays and nothing affects me like it used to.

Waves went flat so we decided to paddle out further off the shore, it was around 5:30 and started to get dark.
