I think there's something more to us than blood vessels, neurons, and cells. I believe that there is some sort of essence that exists in every sentient being that dictates how we grow. It's influenced by our experiences. To put it simply, I call it the Soul.

Even so, if there was evidence of souls effecting our reality it's impossible to actually tell if they are effecting our reality. We still don't understand the human soul to begin with. Hell, we still haven't figured out everything there is to know about the human brain.
