Usually I liked the fixed linked ones better. They were way easier to guide, and even for an untrained guy like me they got pretty deep since they easily bend everywhere. I was able to rub my prostate with them, totally a plus.
The stringy ones are kinkier tho. Personally they feel naughtier, you have to take them in a different way. They could pile up, so you have to align them with your muscles and stuff.
