they are about the same intelegence as a 3-5 year old, with the sex drive and attitude of a 14 year old. they make excellent pets when trained and raised right and if they are broken of their instincts from day one. They breed worse than rabbits and got to be a nuisance because, at first, they had no natural predators. The breeding scale i am most comfortable with declaring (after reading hundreds of comics and stories) is 2-4 weeks to wean the foal, then around 5-7 months to reach full grown size and become sexually mature within 1 year, with a variable lifespan, usually around a decade. it only takes a month for a mother to have foals and around 2 weeks after weaning is done, the mother is ready to go again. they basically enter heat every two weeks till they get bred. Basically, they can have pretty close to 6 litters a year, with 2-6 foals being born. Assuming an average of 4 being born and 2 surviving (considering poopie babies and natural deaths) in likely conditions, that's 12 per year. Considering hundreds (lets just say 1000) were released by the raid cannonically, that means within a year, 12k had been born. By the second year, that original 12k would have 12 each. thats 144k. If this happened on a scale across the country, that would be millions within a couple years. they would be big enough to scare away most small predators. they would likely be in envionments close enough to cities to keep the large predators like coyotes and large birds of prey away. This is basically what caused the issue of the kill on sight that happens in comics.

there are several breeds as stated above. Unicorns, pegasai and normal "earth" fluffies. There can be crossbreeds of the unicorns and pegasai. They are genetically designed to be "cute" and dependant on humans, however, they have proven resourceful enough to find/create shelter, food and herds in "feral" conditions. It seems, however, that natural selection does not prove to compensating quickly enough. they got arrogant without human supervision, and it seems to be survival of the luckiest instead of the smartest or strongest. The fluffies (after the initial incident that made them infamous pests) were quckly brought to market to make up for the infamy. The intelegence level varies individually, much like in humans. Some are extremely stupid, some are quite intellegent, bordering on the level of an older child (7 or 8). most are arrogant/ignorant, some are kind. Most are classist (the pretty colored ones are the "stronger, smarter, better") but the plain colored ones often make the better pets due to this. Their herd mentality offers them a surprising amount of protection considering it would only take a mildly curious beagle to wreck their shit, however their natural defense mechanism of shitting themselves and leaving their babies seems to work, considering that even if they lose several entire litters a year, they can always pop out more, sometimes a decade's worth. The "smarty" behaviour quickly draws a herd together, however the smarty often gets replaced quckly when an angry human does away with them.
