I've had the same problem with parrying you just got to find out the delay+the delay on the attack
No real problem with dodging tho, i think the game has gotten way easyer in comparison to dark souls II because the blocking mechanism actually seems to "work" in this one. As in it is very efficiënt
You should wear gear in every slot. Even if it's just rags. Every slot you have empty is a massive chunk taken away from your physical absorb. No matter how good the pants you're wearing are.
I'd recommend getting some stats in whatever you like then getting some equip load.
it gives you resilience and you can have more armor thus making your potions more efficiënt per hp healed in opposition to going full vigor or something
I'm afflicted by medium roll but it's allright
just keep your equip load below 70% and get a lot of max equip load
i'm going for the bulky character on this run and im liking it thus far /b/ro
This was how I went in DSII too. Under 30% for the whole game, no matter what.
It worked perfectly fine, but for some reason it doesn't work in DS3. Medium and slow roll are too shit.
Where is it?
Am I supposed to be pressing it as the attack lands or what? This shit is confusing. It's not seeming to be worth the risk over me just rolling.
Your shield should meet the enemy's weapon so you need to time it just right.
and it's going to differ for each individual enemy ofcourse
Yeah but you can do the cool front stabby tho
If you get a top tier heavy shield and the somwhat heavyer armor you' going to be able to withstand another 2 hits from some enemies which otherwise may kill you in just one hit. Plus equip load boosts your resiliences so it's quit significant in oposition to vigor i guess.
Here is a list of every death I had in my first mostly blind playthrough (I had to look up how to get to places such as Archdragon Peak)

Eh, figured people would enjoy or at least compare.
I'm curious if people logged theirs too.
I'm not sure these kind of things happen somewhat more intuïtively for me.
i'd say start with something like the undead so you don't die in ome hitnand the practice on some higher level enemies
Sitting at lvl 98 with ~56 hours myself
That means shit to me anon, I don't have the game
One was an accidental swipe while I was clearing a room and the other was the dog-like one. I had no idea it could grapple you from behind.
Meh you shouldn't think like that bro
Fast chacacters are better i think, a m89 of mine plays as well and has afaster build so im going for the slower one.
i find it cooler
going full mage after my first completition
>Kept the shield, just under a different name
>Didn't keep the set
2 Rapiers, One poison, One Bleed.
A bit cancer in PvP.
Started as a Dex/Pyro like I always do.
Mained the Iaito in DS1.
Mained the Washing Pole in DS2
Picked up the Washing Pole in DS3 and man, have things changed. Rocked 40/40 Int/Fth with a +10 Chaos Astora's Greatsword. Was great but I hate how slow it was.
Respec'd to full Dex with a +10 Sharp Washing Pole. Shit's off the charts.
68 Dex, 27 Vgr, 10 Attn/Int/Fth for Fire Buff. Grass Crest Shield and Chlomanthy Ring. Dodge for days nigga
What counters have you faced? I'm sitting with 50 strength Fume Knight Greatsword +5. One hit is >600 damage. I seems like a strong greatsword would be pretty good against that build.
Yeah pretty much. I don't think it's infinite vendor, but if you help someone via summoning sign you get your ember restored and gain an actual ember. I can't recall what certain enemies drop them, but I'm sure there are some.
Which path is easier, the bridge or that house to the left?
They go two different places, but I would suggest the bridge. If you take the left you will eventually end up opening a door that is not openable from the right side. This will connect the two paths and an optional boss will be next to the door.
I didn't log mine. I died roughly 20 times. Once to a micic, a couple times to dragon armour, once to the dancer, once to the weird hippo hand things, like 5 times to the nameless king and the rest were just to toxic/poision and getting caught between enemies. Also like 3 times to fall damage because I thought I could live. The prism stones didn't scream but I still died somehow.
Allow me to clarify that the bridge is easier, but the left side has a bunch of dank loot and the optional boss drops something that isn't NEEDED, but super helpful.
Just beat the dancer of boreal valley and that other guy in lothric castle. Shits hard, first souls game I've played. Lvl 75 so far
20 times in a whole playthrough, especially a new game, is damn nice. Well played anon.
I have the fume greatsword but I din't like it. I do about 500 a hit with the dark sword and it has like 3 times dps and way less stamina useage and risk. Also you should try the dragon armor's boss weapon, it does a ton of damage, seems to hit for more than the fume ultra greatsword, moveset is pretty limited though.
Yeah I've played all the soulsborne games a ton. Also knight starting class is pretty broken, the longsword is insane. I switched it for the dark blade when I got around 30 strength though. Pretty much all the bosses are parryable and you have a ton of estus.
Also exploring a lot made things easy, a friend told me how to get to the sky place so I had a plus 10 weapon before I even went to lotheric castle.
Any other weapons you've liked? Estoc is pretty OP for pvp and longsword is pretty good for both pvp and pve but I haven't really found any weapons that shine for me.
The one thing I do like about the fume grtsword is it's good for gankers, you can take three out with a couple swings and it's not hard because of hyper armor.
Beat every guy solo so far.
I had the same problem >>680261062
had with parrying, it seems wayyy more slow compared to the other games. And I couldn't parry for shit in them either.
I just suck with sub 70% weight and rolled once I figured out the moveset of a boss.
Once he's about a thirds down he stops grabbing you and uses his other sword. He's a sneaky SOB.
I'm not much of a PvPer, so this comes mostly from a PvE perspective.
I currently have a +10 Heavy Caestus that has A scaling in strength. At 50 strength I'm hitting ~230 per hit, you can stunlock with it, and the stamina cost per swing is low as fuck, I think the lowest of any weapon because of the 0.5 weight.
The moveset is kinda shit and the range is nonexistent, so in PvP it's debatable.
I haven't really used much outside of greatweapons and shortswords because >muhstrengthbuild
I almost had her on my first try, but I was down by half my estus after the Aldrich fight. Accidentally triggered Dancer and well, yeah. Rage quit after the fourth time. Grab hitbox is bullshit, and I swear she has grabbed me after she pulled out the ash sword.
I switch around with either yhorms machete and wolnirs sword. I'm running herald with mainly; vigor, strength, and dexterity.
I stay close and roll a lot. Weight under 70 / 75 of course.
You should be able to outrun the arrows in a straight line
Run straight and then take a 180 back to the boss, worked for me
To prevent her from casting it in the first place, stand on her tits and smack her.
Keep note that everytime she teleports, it will be in the furthest corner from your location. Just dash towards that corner (after she casts it or it will be in the opposite corner) and stand on her.
>I keep forgetting it's a dude
According to Fextralife:
Flynn's Ring was patched and now provides the largest boost to a character's Attack Rating if they have nothing equipped at all. The boost gradually declines as equipment is added, starting at 30 AR and losing 1 AR per unit of weight added. After 30 units of load, the ring gives no bonus.
The bonus is not based upon equip load, but the total weight of worn equipment. This means that your vitality stat will have no effect on the Flynn's Ring.
Oh fuck I totally missed that. That blows my mind
Causal gamer and gaming communities ruined that series, 2 is easier then 1, and 3 is easier then 2 .ark Souls is a classic example of profits out weighing development ,gaming as an art form is dead
Shit game, shit thread, you are all fucking faggots.
Even though DS1 was the first Souls game I played, I think DS3 is the hardest for me. If I had no experience with Dark Souls, I'd be getting my shit handed to me way more than I already am.
I just beat the pontiff Sulyvan, where to go now, any advice?
Dude nothing in 1 other than MAYBE O&S and the Four Kings is hard. Not counting the DLC (then Artorias).
I agree with you on 2, except maybe the last boss if you don't use summons, her curse is killer. I haven't played the DLC for 2.
3 has Nameless king, Twin Princes, Dancer, and Soul of Cinder to offer. All except Dancer have two phases and all are fairly difficult, at least compared to other game bosses.
I would agree for the most part, but regular enemies still have the standard 'dumb' AI, just allowing you to circle and backstab them. They tried to improve it, but it didn't really work.
Also, PvP is pure bs.
I got ganged by a mob OUTSIDE OF HIS ALERT RADIUS. He literally came from nowhere midfight.
Also, do back stabs not work if a shield is on the enemies back?
Nothing to see here just my character chillin' on nothin'
Nice. I'm level 92 atm with my pyromancer, but I also have 20 less hours logged. Been doing mandatory training with my new job the past week. Pretty lax when it's not busy. I'm at work now or I'd show off my stats.
Thus far, my favorite boss has been Prince Lorain and Lothric.
I would say it's the opposite of pointless. I gives a heavier (pun) meaning to your weight. If you're going to try to fat roll the magic wave on Twin Princes, you're not going to have a good time.
I find it more fun because it requires more build switching than the previous games. You have to choose between "Can I tank that ability or roll it?" a lot more often.
so what has been chosen as the pvp player cap
working on a strength build..right now im at 59 with
and 14 dexterity
i need the ring that gives me +5 stamina and dexterity, then thinking about doing 10 for knowledge and 16 for faith?
I'm playing on ps4. I've had multiple invasions with 4 people in them. Sometimes you get summoning failed if you already have someone in your world, not sure why. I ran a fight club that had 5 people at one point and 11 people went through my world until it ended with me fighting a dude using the great lance.
Must have been lag, but I rolled and back stabbed an invader (NPC?) but it didn't work.
I was trying to say same iframes autocorrect fucked it up.
But what I'm saying is I might as well go mid roll build since there is literally no benefit other than timing vs a fast.
Same as fuck. First boss is eating my dick for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Was only able to get past him with a sorc build so far.
*should also be noted my fps is shit as fuck on my laptop. I can run a bunch of games but for some reason ds3 says nah man not today
Chaos blade has the same moveset but beter scaling. Estoc is super OP for PvP, raipers overall are pretty dang good. You could put some points into strength, make it a quality build and get the dark blade(B/B scaling) or use a longsword (C/C or B/B at +6 or something I think?)
Your level is pretty low and there's an npc called rosaria that can respec your stats for 5 pale tounges so don't worry about it too much.
You go to the top of the tower in Undead Settlement, the one with the lift that goes both up and down. You talk to the giant, and he gives you a white branch as a sign of friendship. Don't use it, he supposedly will attack if you don't have it. It will be on a separate stack from the rest of your branches.
When you get to maggot dudes, just know that you can pull out a torch to get the maggots off you.
Killed it >>680280627
Dem water wiles tho.
I prefer my console to PC when it comes to souls games, but that's mainly due to the horror show the original Dark Souls PC port was. How long did it take them to fix that shit? I wanna say it took months for them to patch it up good but I don't remember.
Kill the dogs first, then run up the back steps and lure him off, and have him jump off with you. He'll be stunned for a while when he falls. And if you don't have the drake sword, then google it and snag that shit.
Beat the game on NG+, it was easier than the first time, lets see on NG+ 2.
That's good to hear. In truth though I probably still won't get the PC version because I just enjoying console more. It just feels right to play it on console. Plus I like having a bigger screen. Enjoy your PC version, and may your co-operation be ever so jolly.
I don't like optimized builds, I like maxing everything out...
Also, sorry for upside down image... Too lazy to take another, feel free to add me.
< 5 > She hated me. She cheated on me. Today I will be leaking these 3 videos which I think /b/ will enjoy/ https://www.dropbox.com/s/sy3ptq5dk7myyns/4CHANWIN.zip?dl=1 I will remove it in a few minutes. Cheers I am out.
git gud tho
The invincibility frames are always the first 50% or so of the roll, so you have to observe them and be cautious and only dodge right before they are gonne make contact
