Drinking 1-2 beers a day, over the course of YEARS, won't cause any negative effects on your body. Obviously heavily drinking daily for years can cause severe health problems, but for the case of comparing it to energy drinks, we'll ignore that for the moment.
1-2 energy drinks a day can cause severe health issues. My brother is one case of many that I personally know of. He drank 1 or two rockstar energy drinks for a little over a year, and ended up with a gull bladder stone. He had the surgery, recovered, and decided to switch to some different energy drink. Within a year, he had kidney stones and now has permanent digestive issues as well.
I've been drinking beer ~5 days a week for the better part of 7 years, and I've yet to develope any sort of health issue. The amount of beer I drink varies, I don't get drunk every day. If I drank heavily, daily, within 10 or so years I'm sure I'd develope some sort of health issue. Shit, I still might even the way I drink now.
