I went the opposite direction. Came to 4chan after reddit bored me with its social justice warriors and PC nature. And I'm a grad student in robotics, so fairly educated. I think we just get bored of visiting the same community for too long. The flaws become too annoying and the initial charm wears off. Same will probably happen for my time here as well.
