I don't know what big bucks is to you, but if you're technically apt you could consider other fields that don't quite require a degree. Web dev is easy as shit to learn, and still pays pretty well. That's what I wound up doing. No college degree, self taught, landed a job managing a contract generation system. Make pretty decent money, don't know if it's "big bucks", but I get to drink on the job, smoke pot, and it's seriously the most relaxed job I've ever had.
