Okay, so the image gives us little information, so im going to assume a few things.
1. The shark appear to be on a pendulum, meaning that it must be supported by some structure, illustrated in my drawing in red
2. Due to the picture showing us only the scene, im going to assume that it is on a planet, represented by the poorly drawn circle
And 3. Due to the characters being stickfigures, that the universe that this is occuring in is two-dimensional
All the character would need to do is to walk all the way around the 2D planet to reach the princess' side of the gauntlet, the movement shown in green. Easy.
