Don't get me wrong, it took me years to get help. I did a lot of awful shit before I acknowledged that I had a serious issue, and I couldn't even look my shrink in the eye until months after I first started seeing him. Took me almost two years before I talked about the urges that I have, and longer than that to talk about the necrophilia. It has all been worth it, though. I relate a hell of a lot to Jeffrey Dahmer. Our upbringings were very similar, social status, hobbies, interests, development of our paraphilia/intrusive thoughts/behavior, and eventual decline. The only difference is that at the age he started killing, I had a complete mental collapse, got hospitalized, and put on the path to recovery. It makes me extremely sad to think that he could have been saved if even one person tried to help him.
