What's the deal lately with people thinking the planet we live on is flat? If you are a believer explain me your idiotic theory. I'll read your ideas with a chuckle.

I am not personally a belieber, but from I can gather from their arguments is "you have never been to space, so how do you know it is round?" The flat Earth theory is mostly beliebed by people that are more sceptical and less trust worthy of government.

Honestly, if you think about it, YOU can not prove them right or wrong. You can only choose to trust a side. I know that I can't prove the Earth to be round (I'm to poor to buy a rocket) and most likely you can't either.

Its part of the hidden knowledge movement.

basically people in society that are usually unsuccessful or irrelevant can feel better by having knowledge the rest of us don't have. Flat earth is popular right now just like Moon Landing and 9/11 were in the years past.

Flat earth one may be here for a while because its a convincing one, you cant just rocket up there and check it out yourself. Also earth basically looks flat all day every day from being on the surface.

All these Flat Earth people, from what I can tell, reject a lot of stuff, are lower IQ and absolutely cannot handle their ideas being proven wrong, almost to the point of a mental problem.

There is only a handful of people that have been to outer space, the probability that you are one of them is extremely low, therefore by choosing the most likely possibility I can assume that you have never been to space.

Assuming the Earth is round gets you no where, just like all the retards that assume the Earth is flat.

No need to assume. It's bronze age math. The earth is round. Stating your opinion about a fact is irrelevant.

Horseshit. It's easy to prove them wrong.
I'll grant it's more difficult to prove the sphere, but certainly not impossible. The big challenges are
1) flat earthers are astonishingly stupid
2) flat earthers punt with simple denial.
3) flat earthers don't even attempt to explain why things are the way they'd have to be on a flat earth.
4) almost all of them are trolls, so it's responses are just fodder. The few remaining are terrified of Hell for not believing what their pastors say, or are #1 above.

Fucking this.

Most people don't take college trig where you learn that a large curved surface is indistinguishable from a flat surface on the smallest scales.
>>
>>767880665
I've got ask. Are you really an astronaut (or former)?
>>
>>767876299
The evidence for a flat earth is derived from many different facets of science and philosophy. The simplest is by relying on ones own senses to discern the true nature of the world around us. The world looks flat, the bottoms of clouds are flat, the movement of the sun; these are all examples of your senses telling you that we do not live on a spherical heliocentric world. This is using what's called an empirical approach, or an approach that relies on information from your senses. Alternatively, when using Descartes' method of Cartesian doubt to skeptically view the world around us, one quickly finds that the notion of a spherical world is the theory which has the burden of proof and not flat earth theory.

Perhaps the best example of flat earth proof is the Bedford Level Experiment. In short, this was an experiment performed many times on a six-mile stretch of water that proved the surface of the water to be flat. It did not conform to the curvature of the earth that round earth proponents teach.
>>
>>767877139
You can prove them wrong but every argument of your's would certainly go above their head.

That is where the main points of the flat earthers arguments come in.

>Do you understand these maths?
>Have you worked out the measurements yourself?
>How do you know they are correct?

Again, not arguing for them, but their arguments are not given fair treatment. They are pretty much instantly shut down by people that don't have the slightest understanding of how either side of the argument comes up with their calculations, which is simply idiotic. It's stupidity fighting against stupidity, which is exactly what this debate is, stupid.

>Most people don't take college trig where you learn that a large curved surface is indistinguishable from a flat surface on the smallest scales.

Have an MBA in civil engineering... think I know a thing or two about trig. That's elementary level shit.
>>
>>767881414
>The evidence for a flat earth is derived from many different facets of science
No, no, no, no, no. There is no science that can honorably conclude the Earth is flat.

"One's own senses" is not empirical evidence. It is entirely subjective. Bottoms of clouds flat? Look up "mammatus clouds."

Bedford, you liar. It was flawed and when redone with calibration for atmospheric refraction, shown to wrong.

Math is short for mathematics. Which I'll grant is a sphere of studies that includes numerous disciplines. That being said, the point of making a word shorter is for it to not be a pain in the ass to say. You can't tell me with a straight face that Maths is as easy to say as Math. Damn, you people don't so much speak the language as piss on it.

They don't *have* any arguments for a flat earth other than "it looks flat, prove me wrong." That's it. Nothing else. The blather they spew is all about trying to show how the earth is not round, and every argument has glaring flaws that they refuse to acknowledge.

The History of Conditioning Humans to believe in the existence of Outer Space and Space Travel. Unfortunately outer space does not exist like we are brainwashed to believe in television (tell-lie-vision) programming.

Nowadays outer space is a given in everyones mind. It's virtually in every movie, video game, comic book, novel, and even music and tv shows. , causing mostly everyone to believe in outer space without question, eventhough they have never been there or seen it for themselves. Well, the truth is that we are being lied to about space travel and the very shape of our earth. Earth is a actually level & motionless plane and we've been systematically brainwashed into believing that we live on a spinning ball and that outer space is a real place that humans can go. Unfortunately for fans of outer space and space travel, it's all one big, elaborate hoax. Research Flat Earth.

Around a year ago I was really into the flat Earth theory, I searched everywhere for possible arguments that made sense. Not that I believed it was flat, but what if they are right? Anyways, I came across very few that made any sense and that provided an actual study. Then those that could have made sense weren't neccearily flawed, but conflicted with studies that were already believed as fact.

There are numerous ways that you can. The ancient Greeks knew the world was round. Everyone knew the world was round 100 years ago, even though nobody had been to space. Amateur radio hobbyists routinely use satellites to communicate, and with cheap chinese electronics, these days anyone can listen to satellite transmissions and easily verify that the Earth is round. You can also use astronomical observations, observe the sea, watch a sunset from a high vantage point, etc.

Here's some random staticy image I received from a weather satellite with a 'rabbit ears' TV antenna and a $10 USB dongle.

You can buy a plane ticket, you don't need to go all the way to space to see the curvature of the earth.
And distrusting the government is one thing, but you would need to believe far more people then just people in the government was in on the "round earth conspiracy", every pilot, everyone that have access to satellite imagery, everyone involved in making cell phones and GPS systems, hell even people that climb mountains would need to lie.
By the point that around 100+ million people are in on a conspiracy you would think that ONE would have turned whistleblower and leaked some classified documents or something.

Now i am a bit of a "conspiracy nut", anyone that thinks conspiracies never happen are as dumb as those that actually believe in flat earth bs or that all the world leaders are lizard people or other nonsense.

And i think if anything that those are in themselves a conspiracy, think about this, powerful people getting together to do shady shit for power and money is not that unbelievable right?
So how do you discredit people who like to dig in those types of conspiracies? You make or help promote outrageous conspiracies that no person in their right mind can believe, and then you make it seem like people believe in them or you get crazy people to believe in them.

Now whenever someone start to ask questions about something like "was 9/11 a false flag operation?" they are automatically placed in the same camp as the "Trump is a reptilian" "Bigfoot kidnap me and impregnated me with his child, but... it, ehh... ran away after i gave birth to it...".

Now i don't know if the footage of the moon landing is fake, but knowing what was at stake in the space race it is not crazy to believe the US would have a interest in faking it, it was not impossible to fake it, but if you question it you end up in the same camp as those that believe the moon is a hologram...

If you don't want to be lumped in with them, why are you, a moon landing denier, replying to a thread about flat earth ?

>knowing what was at stake in the space race it is not crazy to believe the US would have a interest in faking it,

Yes, it is crazy to not believe, precisely because of what was at stake. The Soviets had perfectly good equipment capable of tracking the missions and communications, and as you point out, had a very high stake in seeing teh US fail, and would have gleefully jumped on the chance to expose any fakery.

Basically, you're an idiot.

It will always be impossible to prove the earth is flat or not flat, as we cannot perceive all sides of it at the same time.

Except that people put cameras on balloons, or rockets, or satellites, all of which show a round earth. Nevermind that the entire airline industry determines their routes based on a curved earth.
>>
>>767886847
My point is, listening to the Moon landing fakery idea *is* entertaining the absurd. And it's not because "I believe" and am "brainwashed," it's because I know what's involved in the arguments and proofs. This thread isn't the first time the ideas have been posted. Each and every point the flat earthers and the fakers rely on is a spurious claim that the evidence can't show this or that, or they misinterpret (on purpose? through ignorance?) and pass off as conclusive proof of the deception. Ironic, really.

Neither is plausible. Both camps are full of charlatans who prey on the feeble-minded, easily confused, uneducated and slightly dim (enough to think they understand the arguments and points) marks, in return for the notoriety they cannot achieve through honest, dilligent investigation and research.

It's made-up crap. That's all, That's the joke. To even say, "Let's look at the evidence" is feeding the troll. You give credence where none is deserved or earned.

Worse, it allows people to think that opinion is somehow fact, and should be treated with equal weight. We are breeding a generation of idiots. The entire knowledgebase of humanity is available at everyone's fingertips, and critical thinking is a vanishing art. People no longer learn how to think, or bother. If it's on YouTube, it must have value. It's nuts.
