its hash.
hash comes in bars in countries where they grow fields and fields of marijuana. they take a bud and roll it between their hands and peel off the residue. this is called 'charas' and is really good hash.
other eastern stuff is where they take this box and shake the trichomes off the buds.
this comes in bars usually because its very abundant in locations like india and mexico because the shit literally grows in fields. in medical states, this is less common compared to concentrates (dabs, shatter, wax). in medical states they tend to grow higher quality marijuana but in smaller numbers, so its not practical to do the wasteful hash production that is economically feasible in other countries, instead they focus on high yield extraction from a smaller quantity of marijuana. this is in contrast to the low yield from a high quantity of marijuana that results in hash.
