At what exact moment did /b/ die?
Compared to 5 years ago this place is completely different.
We were discussing that before the mods 404'd the last thread.
In my opinion Project Chantology and the inter-war on Scientology brought in major attention from outside media sources, tons of newfags, and cancer unseen. I can testify that before these irl "raids" there was not as much aids.
To be honest, anyone that went out and protested with a fucking guy fawkes mask or green suit is the literal reason why /b/ died. Because once you set a political agenda there is no more randomness. Not to mention the whole site was built on anonymity. Going out and protesting in public holding signs like a faggot and marching around NYC does not make you anonymous. It makes you quite the opposite. Then we gained attention, and faggotry haven't stopped ever since.
Oh and not to mention that rules 1 and 2 were LITERALLY made for this reason and yet here we are protesting in the fucking streets.

New memes are evolving all the time. /r9k/ has really impressed me, all the /pol/ stuff too (through I never go there).
The main problem with /b/ is that everyone knows about it, and therefore, it moves way too fast. /r9k/ is slower, and plus, threads are archived for 48 hours, so really, what people post matters, and they know it. The spirit of old /b/ was that someone could have their ass handed to them with a dank meme, or have long discussions, and we just don't have that anymore.
I almost never come here. I just came today to see some furry stuff, because it's still the only board where it's accepted. /b/ has been dead for a long time- so what? /r9k/ isn't as mainstream and therefore standards are still high. Only plebs come to /b/ imo. The legend is over, and I say, the battle has been won. I'm amazed at the cultural impact 4chan has had on the world, and I feel lucky to have been a part of it. When moot started splitting up the boards more and more, /b/ lost fags that went off to /tg/ and other new boards. I feel like the ones who made OC slowly left /b/.
