There's a theory that one of the reasons South Park is so fucked up for past 2-3 seasons is because Kenny hasn't died. He died every episode, then they explained why he does and keeps coming back (parents got involved in a cult). And the lack of him this season only makes it all the more suspicious. If I know South Park, and I do, something is going to tied to Kenny in some way.
They've been greenlighted for 2 more seasons, so there's no telling where it's going.

The reason I and a lot of other people have left social media is because it's a tailored experience, you mostly see what coincides with your interests and views. Also, of the case is that TV and facebook praise rick and morty, there will always be people who hate it just because they see people liking it. The fact that most of the hate(not all of it) of rick and morty comes from people who tend to use the word "cuckold" in the wrong manner, and love to refer to people as "shills" lets me know that the hate isn't seeded in genuine distaste for the show, but just because they think not liking it is cool.

But I even liked the episode where he made fun of pewdiepie. It's just the least three seasons that have been problematic.
Season 18 was good, but with a very sutble tinge of staleness.
Season 19 was okay, but not up to South Park par, and PC principal fucking sucks.
Season 20 has been almost entirely unfunny and uninteresting.
Seems the more they do the continuous storyline format, the worse it gets. South Park isn't one of those kinds of shows; it just doesn't work, because they are completely failing to focus on the humor.
There's just no soul to the last couple of seasons.

Actually the early seasons were childish and stupid, nothing more than trying to be edgy and offensive. When they hit their stride and discovered satire, the show was great. That lasted up until about Season 16-17... the quality had been dropping slowly for a few seasons but was still good. Season 19 is where it all fell apart with the continuous, stupid storylines.
If I want a serial I'll watch a cop show. SP is mostly garbage for the last couple of years.
