Tomorrow we change the world

...Which is exactly what I said several times over a few posts. I used that as an example of how "equality-wise, giving everyone the same chance" and "equity, setting different standards so that everyone comes out perfectly equal" are not the same thing, and people commonly confuse the two. Tumblr's particularly guilty of it, as are people who still bitch about the "wage gap" that doesn't actually exist.
Pointing out that ideals are nice and we should strive to meet them, but biology and statistics can't be ignored because we can't currently change them. Differences do happen, and if a job's occupancy is 90% men, it's not necessarily because the company owner is a bigot... it's probably just a physically demanding, stressful, shitty job that turns half of those men into run-down alcoholics and women refuse to do it
>>714024378
I lost contact with all the others I was talking to because I had to go for a minute and other replied in my place :(
But in the end, herms are for gays, men and women should have equal chance at jobs as long as they both meet the same standards, and all that other shit
Moo?

I argue with anons because it's fun, but I keep it tame. I usually tell them why they're wrong, and tell them to fuck off, and leave it at it. These people just don't know when to stop.
>>714024674
>herms are for gays
Herms are for whoever the hell likes it. Somebody can prefer one sex with no attraction to the other, and still find herms attractive. I've seen gays who like the tits and are disgusted by vagina, straight guys who're totally okay with a dick, people in between who like a bit of everything, people on other side who hate the entire idea because something in between "isn't close enough" to what they like... whatever. Human sexuality is more complicated than "that's fag shit, yo"
>>714024927
Odd that it takes a reboot to get working again
>other side
Either side
>>714025020
but yours argue with anons is almost the same as a spam.
>>714025025
Straight guys don't like dicks because it's a part of the body exclusively found on men. Only a female or a gay would say they like dick
>>714025252
That doesn't even make sense.
In an attempt to stimulate another tangent of conversation, where does everybody live?

I prefer the term "enhance".

This is incorrect. The logic works out fine, but the conclusion is wrong. All the variables in brain formation issues, psychology of fetishes and sexual attraction, learned behavior, whatever... a lot of wonky shit happens in some people. It may be totally true for you, but that doesn't necessarily mean it applies to everyone else. Some straight dudes become somewhat attracted to dick where it doesn't belong out of curiosity, familiarity with the part and sensations, some bits of sapiosexuality (being more attracted to intelligence and personality than strictly physical attributes). Some homosexual women love the hermdick because of what it represents in terms of power and pleasure and adventure, whatever. Straight men can even love dick and hate everything else about men including their base physical forms.
The logic is fine, but it's black and white logic dismissing all the variables that make it incorrect

Man, I remember watching the pilot of Futurama. I used to watch it all the time with my family when I was a wee lad.

I remember too, saw the pilot on a relative's house. Not when it first aired, just a rerun. Still watch it when it's on.

Some awful things happen when a person is pushed to the point that do things society as a whole finds abhorrent... but that's not necessarily evil. Most people would do horrible things with good intentions given the right circumstances.
I'd say the point where it becomes evil is when said person knows it's wrong and has no good intentions and enjoys doing it for the sake of their own pleasure. Torture isn't necessarily evil, but if you're doing simply out of sadistic pleasure...

Whatcha do for a living?
How's life treating you?
>>714026583
But then, in the grand scheme of things we could vanish in an instant from some cosmic event. So what makes such a small scale choice something considered so different from that which occurs naturally? Death comes in many ways.
>>714026834
>Whatcha do for a living?
Lurk, vidya, TKD, sleep, eat, repeat.
>How's life treating you?
Fine, overall. Kinda boring at times, but I get used to it.
>>714026970
Not as boring anymore now, is it? ;)
>>714026643
I didn't mind too much at the time, since I had been poking smot for years at that point, and I probably had the "look" at the time, but damn, it amazes me how some people can be so candid.
>>714027043
Oh definitely. ;)
>>714027067
>poking smot
I'm gonna call it that from now on.
>>714026889
Yeap. That's part of the problem with providing a definite answer to a philosophical question. Every answer just leads to a dozen more questions, which leads to more questions. I certainly don't think I have all the answers, just meandering thoughts
>>714027353
Of course, no one will ever have all the answers, knowledge is infinite. But I've been thinking about this a lot and have come to reason that darkness - or whatever you wish to call it - is not evil. And that evil does not exist except by our perception of it - something made wrong to us or other things. But that is just a natural part of life.
>>714026970
> eat sleep rave repeat
I just got off work and can't wait for this semester/year to finally end so I can spend a week doing the above in my spare time for a little while.
>>714027773
Nice, I hope you get best out of that.
>>714027188
Yeah, there was a lot of poking that needed to be done before the brilliant idea of a spoonerism and my habits made that lovechild
>>714027656
Can't say I disagree with that. I suppose with me it's part of radical acceptance. Things I might consider "evil" are things I choose to not do for my own reasons, but I also understand plenty of the hows and whys, and I accept that it's just part of the way things work. I don't have to like it to acknowledge it.
If there's always going to be evil or darkness because "that's just how it is", and "evil" is as much a choice as anything else, and "that's just how it is" kinda removes choice on a grand scale because it's inevitable, can there really be evil if it's not really a choice? I find I don't really care to take a side, just try to understand and accept it and modify my own actions based on how I feel. Ambivalence HOOOOOOOO
>>714028579
That's how I work it out as well - that is it not right/wrong, good/evil - but choice. And I find the language in good/evil quite vague because of that so I prefer to call it better or worse. Life and nature all work toward the bettering or growth of more and new complexities. So I find in this that we are naturally meant for "better". But worse events such as death and strees are a wonderful counterpart in that it assist those things which wish to improve.
