People are tired of "career politicians" and the perceived ruling class that don't have to answer to the same rules as everyone else. They wanted an outsider.

Donald Trump was seen as an outsider, thus he won.

simple answer is we have concentrated the smart people into big cities, but our voting system still rewards the outlying sparsely populated areas which are now filled with fucking idiot rubes who are easily cowed by just telling them what they want to hear, no matter how farcical it is.

They were aided by the loud-mouthed trolls who i believe know what they are spouting is bullshit, but they get off on seeing how far they can go with it. These are the people you see here on 4chan.

Regardless, they've all voted against their best interests and as a wealthy middle-aged man (with a penchant for porn which brings me to /b/ to browse occasionally) I'm going to enjoy watching them writhe in their own shit and make up silly conspiracy theories to foist blame onto Obama/Clinton/Democrats/cucks/whatever.

that about sums it up.

Simple answer actually is that people stopped accepting being called racist/sexist/xenophobe/transphobe/ableist/and everything else. Couple that with 10 million extra people not being excited about voting democrat and that gives you this election in a nutshell.

Now thats the truth. Unlike anon who results to name calling and questioning others intelligence. Lets see how that worked out for you this year? It didn't work in Britain, it didn't work in America and next year its not going to work in France.

I can't pretend to happy happy about voting for Trump, or many of the people he is choosing for his cabinet, and I believe the next 4 years will set progress back some on important social issues like gay rights and marijuana legalization, but the harm he will do can be easily overcome, and it is nothing compared to the damage Hillary Clinton would have permanently inflicted upon this country.

I don't think that the primary descriptor for a drug cartel person moving over the border to sell or move drugs would be "illegal."

Sure, he is technically an illegal immigrant, but he's not doing it to find a place to live. Lots of the immigrants coming up from Central and Southern America are families fleeing the results of our foreign policy... the coup in Honduras being the easiest thing to point to.

What about the Muslims that live in the US already? They seem to be okay with Western civilization... Shit, one of the malls a bit further up North is FULL of Muslims, ALL the time. I had never noticed it when I was kid going down there. Turns out none of them ever blew the mall up.

which is why we have a democratic republic when she wins states like california and new york massively that helps the popular vote but not the electoral college any more than winning that state by 1 vote. The reason we have governors is so that regions can be satisfied the reason we have a president is so the country is satisfied. More states are represented by trump than by clinton. Those who are complaining can get most of what they want done through states rights which ironically is something democrats stuffed theirs noses at republicans for almost 8 years. States rights is the proper way to go.

Multiculturalism is evidently an inverted and un-confessed form of “distant” racism:

“respecting” the identity of the other, conceiving the other as an “authentic” closed community against which he, the multiculturalist, maintains a distance made possible by his privileged universal position. In other words, multiculturalism is a form of racism which empties the position of all positive content (the multiculturalist is not an open racist, he doesn’t oppose the other’s particular values of his own culture), but nevertheless preserves this position as an empty and privileged essence of universality, from which the other specific cultures can be adequately appreciated: multiculturalism’s respect for the specificity of the other is the most efficient means of reaffirming his own superiority.

Trump is a legitimately smart and qualified leader who is a complete Washington outsider who speaks about promoting simple american values.

The main steam media has tried to attack Trump and discredit him and even make people believe he never had a chance in winning, and yet he won.

FOR EXAMPLE, MICHIGAN WENT TO TRUMP, EVEN AFTER THE RECOUNT, AND THEY USE HACKER-PROOF PAPER VOTE AND REQUIRE PHOTO ID.

That's the first time most people are informed on such a matter, because the media hates it and hates the American people for not voting the way they wanted you to do. Start digging for your information.

A few months ago, when Trump had the nomination but it was still a tossup between Sanders and Hillary, they did a lot of polling. This polling stated that if the left ran Sanders (clearly the popular choice), they'd win over Trump by a landslide. If they ran Hillary, turn out would be much poorer and she'd win by a narrow margin (which she did win the popular vote by a narrow margin, but she didn't win the swing states).

Bernie was filling stadiums (with just as many waiting outside), Hillary was having trouble filling high school gymnasiums in the same cities. Even after Hillary got the nomination, she'd be lucky to have as many as 30 people show to some of her rallies (google the pics, unbelievable).

The public, ESPICALLY the lefties, didn't want Hillary, Hillary was not their choice. I'd be willing to bet Sanders actually won the nomination through the popular vote, but the delegates and super delegates were "establishment" politicians that still corruptly voted for Hillary.

That's what happens when the right runs someone who has huge amounts of popular support and the left runs the establishment politician that the leftists resoundingly DIDN'T want.

The Bernie voting block was a huge one, one that largely didn't vote and has never voted, but had Bernie have got the nomination, he'd without a doubt, have about 90% of the young voters turn out for him. It would be a very different voting block than usual (it's usually old people vs minorities), but it would be enough for Bernie to win.

They ran a shit candidate. Even lefties don't like Obama and Hillary is closely associated with all of Barack's blunders. She would have been more popular had she never been in his cabinet. The last thing anyone wants is more "business as usual".

tl;dr Had they have ran Bernie, they would have sealed the deal.

It's stupid to stay as a laborer while automation is taking your job.

If you can't keep up with technology you'll be left behind.
>>
The simplest reason is that the Democratic party was seen as corrupt, and that no matter what you voted they had rigged the election for Hillary to win... So a lot of people either didn't vote or voted Trump to spite the system. And guess what... The general election wasn't actually rigged!

You're right, it's much more intelligent to believe that manufacturing and coal jobs are going to come back and a fresh high school grad, or hell even a dropout will be able to get a blue collar job that will allow him to buy a house and raise a family, and that Trump is the man to usher this in. He'll probably bring back all the blacksmith and wainwright jobs in his second term.

Because the economic success of democracy led to the creation of a donor/investor class. This donor class was able to abuse the taxation system, the legal system and the apparatus of international finance to corrupt the government of the United States to the extent that government "by the will and consent of the people" had all but ceased to exist as anything more than an abstraction. This lead to systemic corruption and growing constriction of fundamental democratic principles by the donor class who sought to control all aspects of American life in order to perpetuate their "Elysium" of wealth and extend it to similar mined elites abroad.

Fortunately, and by virtue of the foresight of its' founding fathers, enough of the American electoral process remained intact for a grass-roots resistance to take control of the government and install a leader who is widely perceived as being capable of reforming the wayward democratic system by neutralising the donor class, restoring prosperity, security and core democratic values.

tl;dr

Inbuilt safety mechanisms in the American democratic process allowed the people to get their political system back on track.

Really? Have you looked at average IQ numbers for different parts of the country? The higher IQ numbers fall on the lower populated states, the lowest numbers are the big cities because of the amount of poorly educated minorities.

also Trump won because Hillary was the other choice. Had the Dems picked someone that did not want to increase welfare and give away more "free" stuff, (raise taxes in the long run, no wau in hell you can add welfare programs and not raise taxes), they might have won. so your solution is what, prop up the prices of the goods those blue collar workers use to make that are now made outside the US for way less?

Why don't we look at a few south american countries to see how that's worked out for them you fucking idiot.

All this talk about rejecting globalism is hilarious. How far does your head have to be in the sand to not realize the global market is here, and that horse ain't going back in the barn.

In the 50s, which you all so often harken back to, WE WERE THE ONLY FUCKING DEVELOPED COUNTRY WITH INFRASTRUCTURE TO PRODUCE THINGS. Everyone else had been bombed to shit in WW2, and that artificial reduction in supply allowed prices to be artificially high, which is what paid those fucking manufacturing jobs more than normal. Well now everyone has caught up and has their own industrial output, and they don't have a cost of living as high as we pushed ours in those 50s and 60s you talk about, so we're at a DISADVANTAGE in the price game.

you can bitch about it and blame it on whatever you want, but it doesn't change the base fact that we are at the top due to a temporary historical aberration, and the world is reverting back to the norm. Given that we were at the top of that aberration, our reverting to the norm has been DOWN.

Punching yourself in the cock, which is what we just did by electing Trump, was not the best way to handle it.

Your argument kind of rests on your 50's example being correct...which it isn't. America prior to WW2 still had the highest GDP and best industry. Sure, a few more developing countries have industrialized now, but the only reason they're competitive is because of the abysmal human rights there. Cheaper for companies to operate, no reason to come to America.

Unless there is some incentive to, like a lower tax rate...? And even a penalty for operating outside, like a tariff...? Push/pull.

I agree though, if labor is automated no intervention should be made by the government. Adapt or die.

>Trump has a push-pull factor for manufacturing, it's reasonable to assume that jobs will come back. Whether or not it will be enough for a dude to support himself or a family on is another matter.

None of it is coming back without odious regulations. The manufacturing jobs have mostly been lost to technology, the ones that are left are done for pennies an hour in the third world, so for that to come back we'd have to become a hermit nation tradewise where we import nothing and a very small amount of people get a minimum wage (unless Trump eliminates that) job manufacturing ipads they can't buy because they cost $6000. Coal jobs are gone because natural gas is cheaper. If Trump outlaws fracking, green energy, and nuclear, completely deregulates coal emissions and props the coal industry up with subsidies, then some of it might come back. There are plenty (IMO, awful and bigoted reasons) to support Trump, but those jobs aren't coming back unless Trump truly is insane. Either way, the working poor are fucked.

28 years ago, yes 28, Opra interviewed him and asked him if he wants to run for President.

He stated, probably not, but if the nation gets very bad, I will.

Everything he stated 28 years ago, he followed to a T during his current election campaign. He claimed America has gotten very bad. He stated our "Allies" are not paying their fare share, he stated our deals are set up so foreign economies can exploit us and destroy us on imports.

28 years ago, and guess what, he got sick of it, and he did exactly what he said, 28 years ago, he would run for office.

Yay Hillary, liar, corrupt, more Obama for 4-8 years which has helped nobody. Obamacare? who can afford that? What else has he done except play golf on Martha's Vineyard while there is a flood killing tons of black people in the south, where DT immediately went to (not Hillary), to speak to the people and set up funds.

Trump has stated he doesn't want to be as hawkish as previous presidents in the Middle East, he has FURTHER PROVEN THIS by stating he wants to pursue friendship with Russia (which has already happened), stop nation building, and eliminate ISIS.

Out of the three, he has already done one, and he isn't even in office yet.

This is not true.

Even in 1945 Nazi Germany was able to produce war materiel on a par with any competitor in the global arena.

The USAAF/RAF bombing campaign had virtually no appreciable long term effect on the production of aircraft, tanks and other military hardware and analysis of production figures shows a steady increase in production even into 1945 after the relocation of many industrial plants and the capitulation of others after liberation by advancing allied forces. German experienced a manpower shortage, a shortage of rare metals, oil and the strangulation of its' distribution networks, not a decrease in industrial capacity.

In the immediate post war period the infrastructure of rehabilitation provided many Europeans with jobs and countries like France Italy, Japan and Germany and, subsequent to this, those nations saw a resurgence in national industries that endured well into the 1960's.

did not expect to see well-reasoned rebuttal here lol

It's true we had highest GDP and best industry, but Europe was on their way to gaining competitively until they fell off the wagon. If they had not been sidetracked and kicked backward by 50 years, we'd have been having this conversation in the 60s, not in 2016.

And I hear you on the lower tax rate, it's certainly a lever we can pull. But to think that it's going to eliminate the need to seriously retool and re-educate is folly. We are simply not going to be able to compete with the ridiculously low cost of living that exists in countries that can install current manufacturing processes and ride the wave until their middle-class standard of living expectations push their wages up (see India, and starting in China, for examples of this). But for every India and China that hits the wall we're at, there's another third world country getting their shit together and able to take advantage of their low cost of living to juice up their economy now that global barriers are so small.

This new reality is here, and the fucking mouth breathers in this country refuse to acknowledge it and work on adapting, so as you say, we are at the precipice and may die (I hope not).

Trump has been bankrupt 6 times, which most people think makes him a shitty business man. "bankruptcy" is selling assets to cover debt, if anything he's a smart motherfucker if he's made billions of dollars as a brand/real estate mogul despite being bankrupt that many times.

As someone in the US Army, I have no idea why my country voted that fucktard to be my commander in chief.
>>

this is correct. Dems did this to themselves by demonizing moderate middle of the road americans. just people who want to work, take care of their families, and not be called racists sexist nazis for no fucking reason.

Blacks in average have the lowest IQ in America, yet overwhelmingly vote democracy. Why's that?

Because he provided a visible change to the country, because people are tired of false promises from their leaders. DJT may not deliver on the promises he's making, but the American people can see a leader that is acting like he's going to change things.

I'm just trying to make a point that clinging to a numerical figure to FULLY quantify something that is incredibly abstract and complicated is stupid. Sure it's one of the better measures we have now, but just like any test, you can study it to improve your score.

Jobs will come back and the US, not world, market will fix itself. Companies like Apple are making OUTRAGEOUS profits building overseas and selling here while sitting in Ireland and not paying a fair share of tax to the US.

Prices will NOT go up for big companies like Apple, don't worry about buying your 4 kids new iPhone 7s.

Prices will stay the same, because nobody will pay your "$6000" estimated cost. Nobody will buy, so they will stay the same. Less profit for the American company? All fixed after destroying the Irish tax loops.

Big companies like Apple will see a decline in profit, nobody should be investing in these companies that hurt America. Dump the stock, invest in American companies producing things here, then reinvest when those companies balance out. It's not rocket science.
>>
It was a vote for white power, and white power won. Expect more of same.

The old GOP will remain in power since incumbents were re-elected, but some fresh nationalist influence is a good thing.

Anyone unhappy with the outcome please leave for the paradise of Canada.

>>713136331

Establishment Democrats are only exascerbating this issue by pandering to the far-left wing of the party and further abandoning its Union Hall roots. Blue collar workers used to flock to the Democratic party but now they form the backbone of Donald Trump's alt-right support base. It doesn't help that radical elements of both parties turn out disproportionately during the primary election, providing politicians with an incentive to avoid compromise and pursue more extreme policy agendas.

Ah, so you take some dude on twitters experience (possibly even lies) as gospel?

Something tells me you aren't one of the more intelligent democrat voters...

who the hell said anything about liberal arts degree?

It's funny though because my degree is in History, but I work in technology and clear over 350k a year.

But keep on dismissing people based on the degree they got vs. their actual accomplishments. Kinda like voting for Trump based on what he says vs. what he's actually done.

At least you're consistent.

Observation: Trump supporters love the word faggot
>>
Trump won the election for several reasons.
1. Americans are tired of millions of people being shipped into the US and given free housing, healthcare, education, etc. at the expense of taxpayers. They're even more tired of being called racist for complaining about it.
2. Hillary Clinton did not do very much campaigning. She left that to her underlings, who fucked it up splendidly. Rather than trying to appeal to the working class, they squandered what should have been a guaranteed victory by pandering to fringe groups like Black Lives Matter and welfare leeches who don't vote. This completely alienated the working class. In spite of what your television has instructed you to think (but muh glorious BBC), that includes large numbers of blacks and huge numbers of Hispanics who voted for Trump.
3. A lot of people were smart enough not to fall for "omg he's a racist Nazi". Do you have any idea how many Hispanic people are legal citizens of the US? Do you know how hard they or their parents, grandparents, etc. worked to become legal citizens? People who immigrate legally and do the work to become citizens do so because they love the idea of the United States and the opportunity it provides, and not because they want to be saddled with huge tax hikes to pay for assholes who just walk across the border demanding free shit and Sharia law.
4. Clinton is a career criminal whose tenure as Secretary of State of was filled with corruption and massive fuck-ups. Do you like war? Did you enjoy George Bush shooting his sticky load of "democracy" all over the middle east? Vote for Clinton for more of that amazing diplomacy.

I know, I know. Your television told you Donald Trump was an evil Nazi. Your television never lies to you.

What people with PHDs adsorb is, in most part, not a higher level of reasoning or knowledge. Instead, they acquire a culture that allows them to communicate with each other more effectively. By the same token however, this culture alienates them. Even more so when they believe (foolishly) that their own culture is superior. The same people (the educated) who believe that a culture's merit does not lie in its achievements, then hypocritically point to their own achievements when asked what makes them better.

99% of scientists do not agree on global warming.
Not even 80% agree, and they don't even use the term anymore. They've gone with the softer "climate change" in order to genericize the concept and attract more support by creating something more difficult to disprove.
