I was actually thinking of making it self combustible. Like, if a pinky was cut off or something, Ruby could kinda make it burst into flame or create a small explosion, depending on the amount thats blowing up.
The i guess obvious weakness to it would be that the ink disintegrates afterwards, so it would basically be lost forever.

Color guides are nice and all, but you'll get the subconscious hints along the way. You don't need to constantly refer to an image, just see it once, or twice maybe, to get the idea into your head.
