That is what I've been doing so far. My parents let me research religion when I became old enough to get interested in it. They told me that they had no say in my beliefs and that I should see for myself.
I read several different religious texts, realized they were rehashing similar stories and tropes. Then I read some more and talked to actual religious people, they all seemed like they had the true answer, the problem was they were part of different religions.
