If your tolerance becomes too high or if it just becomes a habit and is not really fun anymore i would say. Also if you start pushing away responsibilities and just sit at home all day and smoke it's probably a good idea to take a break.
But it's different for everyone, some people can smoke all year round and be fine, you will probably know yourself if you need a break

As a recreational stoner, can someone please explain to me if 'medical cannabis" is legitimate or if its just an excuse to get cooked and still let it be okay in the eyes of the law/society. I smoke for the smaller amounts and then edibles when i want to go into space... because the edible ride has a longer onset it is generally more palatable imo than taking a huge dab rip and finding yourself fading faster and faster between every second. Im sure some people like that, but for me it just kinda makes me too geeked up during the peak

A few years back, I needed to piss clean in three days in light of an upcoming opportunity. I was also a fledgling professional cyclist at the time. I rode 270 miles in three days. Took the test, pissed clean, and went on my jolly way home to smoke.
I got so fucking high I quite literally had to grab onto my chair to keep from falling out of it. I got so high it was almost scary. I got higher than the first time I got high.
That being said, I think it's usually about two weeks, on average.

I'm mostly a roll up guy myself, but I bought a bong to curb on my consumption a little bit. I can make an ounce last a veeeery long time.
I feel like I get higher faster, and I get to snuff the bowl after every hit which conserves even more. Joints and blunts just burn constantly even if no one is smoking it (which is why I enjoy rolling up, no need to continuously relight and pull and clear, etc)

How do you guys feel when you're high? I've tried it twice now. The first time I spent a lot of time wondering what I was supposed to feel, and then I got to a point where I was laughing at everything, and the second time I start remembering jokes I've told in the past and laughing like a maniac again. Last night my friend whos been hounding me to try his friend/dealers dank finally gave me the opportunity. It started out as our ordinary ritual, a bunch of us ventured out of our friends place to go for a nice evening walk. The temperature was around 0 degrees celcious.
We got to our usual spot to light up at the entrance of a footpath that leads thru a small forest. I took out the Zeus Vaporizer with the temp setting on 388 and began vaping this dank hybrid while my other friends lit up a big cannon blunt.
It was fucking great for the first 30 minutes. It felt extremely powerful. I was having a great time and could barely control my thoughts.
Then a point reached where I felt like my mind was at 100% capacity and it was even more powerful than that. Its then I started focusing inward deeply and felt the dank was too powerful for me and I began to be negatively affected by my current problems I'm facing in my life.
For the next hour or so I felt like I was internally freaking out and kind of tried to socialize with friends or keep walking to just ride it out.
At the peak of the internal freakout I decided to quit weed for at least a month and fully detox.
I'm going thru a lot of problems right now in my life as well so my state of mind is definitely more negative these days which can be bad if you're going in to highly potent dank.

Weekend smoker due to work and responsibilities
The people who smoke daily are trying to chase that initial fresh high but nothing will ever come close. In fact even if you quit for 20 years and then one day smoked a huge bong bowl of dank you still won't get that initial high you had.
The best way to at least get high is to smoke once per weekend for a couple months, followed by 1-6 month t-breaks.
I find thats the only way really to enjoy weed to be "fucked up".
