Since they're often rich spoiled lazy brats they can't really relate to those lower on the totem, and so they usually come off as insufferable pretentious assholes who have to shout everything out on a microphone for the "less-educated".
The conservative elites don't feel a sense of noblesse oblige so much as they want to "get the peasantry under control for their own good." Usually, they're libertarians who think paying lip service to conservative christian values is a means to an ends to get a neoclassical economic model in place that preserves the current economic order.
