Yes, and you're missing the complexities of district relevant data. A district that has a median income of less than 50k doesn't mean the district has no wealthier voters. Let's say 40% of district X is above 50k, but the other 60% isn't. If that top 40% actually shows up to the polls in disproportionate numbers, they turn the district whatever color they tend to vote.

This is where the keyword _median_ comes in. The median is LESS than $50,000. I get what you're trying to say, but I think you have the wrong picture in your head on what the numbers are telling you.

This seems to be counter to the narrative that Trump campaign was putting forth. Especially when you consider areas like the Rust Belt. It also seems to be in conflict with a few maps. For example, in nearly every state, the population centers with far higher average incomes overwhelmingly voted for Clinton. Look at Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Florida. Cities with higher incomes voted blue. Rural districts, of which there are plenty, have significantly less average income and overwhelmingly voted red.
So a few different things that _actually_ happened:
* Rural districts vote red, despite their *significantly* lower income averages.
* Populous districts overwhelmingly vote blue, with far higher income averages compared to their red rural districts.
