In the forensics side of things, I am responsible for the forensic recovery of digital evidence. Whenever someone does some illegal shit that breaches a contract or law, the lawyers send us the devices (usually through a process known as discovery, where a party is compelled to deliver evidence whether incriminating or not).
I then sift through to find the right evidence, and sometimes present my findings in court as an expert witness (cross testimony is terrifying).
In the security side of things, we do everything from red-teaming/pen-testing/social engineering, to physically walking into a building in a nice suit & looking busy and seeing how far we can get before we're challenged.
Then of course there's vulnerability assessments and technical security kind of stuff.

Many lack the dedication to start, the others lack the dedication to post content daily/every other day. All of them think it's easy, free, effortless money that pays off immediately and then wonder why they don't work.
The other trick is to at least be somewhat original in your presentation. Everything at this point has been done before, but it hasn't been done in every way. If you do game reviews, don't try to be AVGN. People will just go watch him instead.
Effort is only part of it. There needs to be a reason to watch your channel instead of some other guy's channel that does similar content. Case in point, there have been a ton of MTG-related channels and none of them managed the kind of success that Tolarian Community College managed to pull off, and that's through not just dedication but a persona that's likeable and enjoyable to listen to. His channel is just a simple product review channel at it's core but it's the presentation that puts it over the top.
Oh, and you probably want a Patreon. Not many YouTube channels pay enough without one.

Its not that hard. Google on how to properly name your videos and tag them so they would come on top in the search feed. Consistency and quality is key, yes. Make sure there is enough people there interested in the subject about which you are making the video since there is no profit in making videos for e.g. a game with under 20k players. When you make it to the recommended videos for people you've already won and then its only a waiting game.
