Definitely, I know plenty of people who don't lift who would be far more approachable if they got fit and started hitting the gym. Though I'd say the amount it improves plateaus off when you get to a certain level of fitness (say, instagram fitness model level) where it stops making a difference, and might actually hurt your chances of having someone strike up conversation, either from you being too intimidating, way out of their league, etc...
anyway, imo, being fit & healthy, and appearing fit & healthy, is a great way to bring people towards you because not only will you look better, but it says something about you in that you care about your health, good things, etc
