Impossible to know or not. They may be glued together and therefor don't need the perceived stack. Also, we don't see the back end, if it's glued together it could have basically any shape on the back. If it's solid, and doesn't try to trick the viewer, it's possible to calculate, although I don't really wish to do so unless OP can confirm that we're not getting tricked.

summation from i=1 to 9 of i!
>>
>>710364212
This is correct.
Once you figure out the outside number, you add the number from 2 levels above it for the interior count of balls.
1
3
7 (6 on outside plus 1 for interior)
12 (9 on outside plus 3 for interior)
19 (12 outside plus 7 interior)
Etc etc.
That's the pattern.

Balls in one layer: (n^2+n)/2

(1+1)/2 = 1
(2^2+2)/2 = 3
(3^2+3)/2 = 6
(4^2+4)/2 = 10
(5^2+5)/2 = 15
(6^2+6)/2 = 21
(7^2+7)/2 = 28
(8^2+8)/2 = 36
(9^2+9)/2 = 45

1+3+6+10+15+21+28+36+45=165

>>
Assuming it is a tetrahedron (triangle pyramid) and not hollow, we can see that the number of balls along one length (n) is 9. So the number of balls in the bottom layer is:

n(n+1)/2
or 9(9+1)/2
= 45

And the number of balls in the tetrahedron is:

n(n+1)(n+2)/6
or 9(9+1)(9+2)/6.
= 165

>>710371236
Nope, is square, there are no fucking 60 degrees cutting or corners.
>>
Check just the front bottom 4 balls. If it was a 3 sided base the side balls would be touching at the back.

Besides im not sure that the balls would even stack neatly with a 3 sided base.
>>
>>710371531
well the base of it is not square, and I can't say i know the math behind the perspective shit earlier but those angles are far bellow 90 degrees.

We can agree that there is 3 balls on the second to highest tier correct? if that's the case. it's 3 sided.

Theres no way to find the dimension of the rear wall as its to see whether the front we are staring at also is how the rear side appears. However, theres no way the stucture could stand if it was in fact flat on the backside (or a triangle as some called it) simply because a straight up and down wall of balls would fail in this case.
>>
>>710372073
the back wall must extend just as the side we are looking at does so id imagine its a square with 4 edges the 4th being identical to the one we see in the foreground of the photo except on the rear side.

Course This calculation is from the top to bottom. With the agreed upon four sided pyramid.

There is too much space in relation to the diagonal of the bowling balls at the 2x2 bowling ball segment to support the single ball at the top. Therefore it must be 2x2 instead of the alternate thought process of there only being 3 balls in this segment.

ANSWER IS 165

there are 9 levels of bowling balls and each level is the level number times itself with the level numbers ascending as they go from top down.

1x4x9x16x25x36x49x64x81
=
285

this is assuming that there are bowling balls behind the ones we see, making a full 4 sides pyramid with bowling balls inside the pyramid.

However, if the the bowling balls that we as see are the only bowling balls that are there then there are only 81 bowling balls

All that math but can't count to 3
>>
>>710376114
lol, you serious nigga? 3 sided
>>
>>710371774
That's where you're backwards, a 3 sided base would be much more stable and neat that a 4 sided base when stacking spheres
>>
>>710375884
Look again, very close. I talk about the cuttings... they are like 45 degrees, and two of them makes 90 degrees....... got it??
>>
165

I'm off to watch some porn now, fuck this shit
>>
>>710362889
there are probably millions of bowling balls anon. There are probably factories that just make bowling balls.
>>
>>710376433
both angles are >90*
>>
>>710376657
...in China.

The real question is how many bowling balls they manage to fit into those 3 sided shipping containers.

This?

Nobody gives a fuck about your wood god and his wood angels.
>>
>>710377033
added one too many layers
>>
>>710376985
Of course they are. 45 one cut, and 45 other cut makes 90 degrees in total.
>>
>>710377033
7th has 6 balls
so it's wrong
>>

Triangle base, 165 balls
>>
>>710377159
I count 9?
>>
>>710377246
On the perimeter, 1 ball should fit in the middle
>>
>>710377472
my bad
>>
>>710363472
Congrats someone can add
>>
>>710377341
odd, but just check out the bottom layer

it's 9 across correct?
then the math is
9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1 = 45

45 balls at the bottom teir
>>
>>710377033
also 7th layer has 6 balls not 7, something is wonky with the math here
>>
>>710363472
I can confirm this
Every layer is just the one above plus how ever many more is needed to add a full row to (for this well say the bottom).
So the patters is 1 add the amount you need to make a full row below it, you get 3. Repeat this process until you have number values for each row then add them all up. In this picture there is 9 rows, assuming the stack is not hollow you get 1+3+6+10+15+21+28+36+45=165
>>
>>710377804
See
>>710377472
>>
well the bottom row is 9 and it goes up to 1, so...

9*9 =81
8*8=64
7*7=49
6*6=36
5*5=25
4*4=16
3*3=9
2*2=4
and the one on top
so 285?
>>
more than 2

incorrect, here
>>
>>710377621
I did my math by corner.

Total corner balls+total balls between by number of faces so (3x7)+3 then do this for ever other layer above and add them together that should account for the volume perfectly, presuming the balls are balanced in 1/2s not 1/3s
>>
>>710378009
scratch that, i just realized it has a triangular base, not a square one.
for some reason i thought it had a square base
>>
>>710378261
Ah, I see the error now
>>
>>710378261
math goes like this

layer 1 = 1
layer 2 = 1+2 = 3
layer 3 = 1+2+3 = 6
layer 4 = 1+2+3+4 = 10
and so on.
