Those windows.. can't stop thinking about the energy bill.
Fuck I'm getting old.
The rain is slamming against my roof and windows, it's inevitable and continuous. We're all just whispers in the the city's monotonous chant. The city may be crowded, but it is hollow at it's core.

As I sit and listen to the ran fall, I realize I am no longer alone. How many other people are listening to the rain as well, contemplating their life? thinking about their lonliness? In this sense, we're never alone.

Some of the driving gets treacherous, but very comfy spots along the way
>>710255488
Exactly what I was thinking too anon the heat loss has got to be insane. I remember my father beating my ass purple because I once left the blinds open on the bay window of our home in winter.
>>710257964

>>710257973
imagine how lonely it would get, living there. Listening to the waves rising and falling every night, staring out at the scattered stars. Yet you are utterly alone, and some nights it takes everything you've got just to keep yourself from taking a leap off that tempting edge. Lonliness can sedate you.
>>710257973
Been there!

If you eat the puffin, it is okay. If it is not used for it's delicious meat, you should leave the poor birds alone. All they want to do is survive and feed their young.

>>710263934
That's the type of stuff I'm thinking. As long as I had some good books and something to do I'd pretty much be happy forever.
Then again having heat and a toliet is nice as well. So I guess something inbetween living in a shack and living in a fully functional house.
>>710263539
You could probably do it right now. Especially if you settled in the upper peninsula of Michigan or on Lake Audubon instead of holding out for Aspen CO or something.
>it can be lonely and dull unless you actually enjoy doing outdoorsy stuff all day
>keeping up a rural homestead is a lot of fucking work
>you'd have to live off investment returns or patching together odd jobs because there's very little full time work
The truth is, most people are not suited to it. The romance dissipates the first time you have to walk a quarter of a mile through knee deep snow to get to your snow plow because your car won't make it over the driveway.
>>710264609
truth right here.
>>710262249
Theres a path in the bottom.

I find this image strangely comfy
>>710265162
Depends on your credit and skills and how committed you are. An empty piece of land with a trailer and some utility hookups can be pretty cheap. Or find a job a in a small town and live in a shit apartment above a bar til you can get a place you like.
Probably easier to save intensely for a few years in your current job and use that. If you can't give up lattes and delivery pizza, rural living isn't for you anyways.
>>710266191
It's something I've wondered about. I don't think I would hate it, as long as it was more carefree. I grew up in the city, but visted the country a lot as my grandparents lived there. They always seemed happy and my grandfather always had something to do. Idk maybe I want to live in the country just to avoid the responsibilities in life.
I could save up for a few years with good credit. Don't think it would be too hard. Know any good places in Canada wth low property cost? And what do you mean by making money off investments? Like stock market type idea?
>>710265120
anyone has more purple-themed retro asian city images/gifs?
>>710265162
>live in canada
Try leaving the city for even a second. Most of cananada is pretty empty.
>Places you'd live if I wasn't a NEET living at home
>>710256407
It's comfy to me
>>710262271

>>710265999
checked, looks so nice.
>>710268262
Me too!!
>>710266827
Sorry, I know nothing about Canada.
It can be great. I grew up on a small hobby farm and often I miss it. Manual labor is good for you and the rhythm of upkeep gives you a purpose. But it's hard for people who are accustomed to being able to stop at the store and grab something for dinner. If you procrastinate on chores in an apartment, you just have some dirty dishes pile up... do that at your homestead, and shit starts to fall apart.
The reason I don't try to get my own little place is that I just can't imagine having a satisfying career or love life out there while keeping up the place.
>stock market type idea?
That's a whole other discussion. Start with an index fund account and research from there. Buying individual stocks is only a shade better than buying a lotto ticket.
To hang on in the country (without independent wealth or that rare job in town that pays more than 10 bucks an hour) you need to patch together a lot of skills, take care of your own repairs, and work out trades with neighbors. Especially in the US, you can't live without a steady stream of money.
>>710258783
>>710265162

to me this is the opposite of comfy. I used to work as as a delivery man, and this was hell. Specially, when I had to use chain my tires.
