OP, speaking from my own experience I dealt with this as well. Self harm, depression, low self esteem, negativity and etc. This chick is lost, she doesn't know what she's doing. She reminds me of myself big time, I'm into art as well and all that bullshit.

My advice.. convince her she needs to do to inpatient psych hospital to detox off the benzodiazepines. I am in now way saying that people with BPD are bad people. So no offense to you personally. Everyone with BPD is different. However that being said despite people with BPD not having intentions of hurting the ones they love, you inevitably do.
This doesn't mean that people with BPD shouldn't be loved. But to be in a relationship I think there are two criteria that need to be met. 1) your partner needs to be totally patient. 2) The person with BPD should be in DPT therapy.
I had the patience... and while my ex admitted had BPD she refused to continue treatment due to thinking she could solve it on her own.

With Borderline personality disorder that is described here, she'll have chronic suicidal ideation that won't be resolved in hospital, longer in hospital = worse outcome. OP, I have BPD (male) and ive almost completely mitigated all of my symptoms even off medications. Im completely drug free at this point, and as long as im not forced into any overstimulating environments, i can behave and feel just like everyone else.
Dont get me wrong, the disorder is awful and very misunderstood (primarily due to shitbags like your girl), but theres still a line between ill and just a pain in the ass.
It really comes down to the individual. They say im a rare case because most cant recover as well as i did and certainly not as rapidly, but i think and feel as though most everyone can do this. It all comes down to one thing: Do you like her? Do you love her?
If so: try as best as you can to fix her.

I know, all of that is true but once you decide to go for an easier path, you will quickly understand that even if the sex is good and everything is "ok", it's never gonna be as good.
Healing, especially of the mind, takes a lot of time. It took me 3 years with her for things to be decent and stable. I failed her numerous times, I fucked up and slept with people a couple times.
