There is litterally no reason to be on 120 anymore or at all, and wiring in houses can handle up to 600V so it really wouldnt be that hard to start converting to 220 it would just be expensive since our crumbling infrastructure is based off of shit built in the 30s and 40s. after all 220 is more eficient, Here its mostly used for light fixtures so they can be wired in series for a longer distance without having multiple breakers/ runs.
