I personally disagree. Referencing a drawing is basically making a simplified form of an already simplified form. Which is why when most people reference solely anime, it ends up looking pretty bad. Worry about stylization after understanding proper anatomy. It helps with warping and basic proportional rules in the long run, and therefore a better "style."
