The fact is that there are a lot of people trying to legislate certain speech patterns and if that happens I'm afraid you'll see even more of people being afraid to voice their opinions. And if these opinions aren't allowed to be voiced and discussed it'll just fester and be more likely to end up in actions.
Take the fact that people see BLM as a racist movement having a bone to pick with and being a threat to white people, if this discussion is silenced because "it's racist" people will keep thinking that way, and BLM will keep doing their thing, while the tension and conflicts get worse.
