We were together for 5 years, even though it seems like it was a shorter time to me. I can't believe it was 5 years.
I was hung up on a different girl when our relationship started, and it took me all that time to finally move on and sort myself out. I was a jerk to her, cold and uninterested in spending time together as if it was being forced on me. I spent that whole time stuck between being with her and wishing I was single in case I could find someone more compatible with me. But she was wonderful. We parted ways as a mutual decision, life was just in the way. Money was the biggest reason we couldn't stay together, despite all my flaws.
