I had the pleasure of meeting a young man at an airport bar who said he was a SEAL. Nope, on deployment UCP was actually pretty fucking cool. It doesn't blend in with anything until you actually get deployed and see how well it blends in with almost anything at about 50m.
I just got out in january of this year actually. I was the last man in the 55th and when I was the 160th it was me and one SPC that still had our UCP. Everyone else was giving us shit for it, but having utilized both in the field UCP is superior for urban environments and the rocky terrain of Afghanistan. I also didn't want to go out and buy new cammies anyway.
