The thing with war is that its expensive. It has always been incredibly costly to put a man in armour, train him, keep him fed, give him weapons and convince him to go fight and kill men in similar situations. War is not fought for pure resources but for acquisition of potential. Land for crops, women for babies,potential tradelanes or just as a way of proving your worth to people who have something you want.

You are correct in that the two examples are exceptions to the rule, and I would even argue that the Civil War example doesn't represent the whole picture, as it was still a capitalist society at the time.
As for the sinful society stuff; isn't all of the woes Marx describes caused by greed and exploitation of the worker? Does he not lament against the capitalist throughout the manifesto?
But now that we've mostly settled the main discussion, I'm curious; what is your alternative proposition to Marx's "natural emergence"? If my interpretation of what you said is right of course, you believe such examples Marx gave did not represent the catalyst change he proposed?

She isn't though and they've stated that. The model estimates probability of winning not voter percentages. She polls awfully she's just up against the actual most unpopular major candidate. So in their prediction model of who will will she has the biggest lead and in US history I think 538 have only covered 3 elections. Although their podcasts do show a clear Democrat bias which I think is a little unprofessional.

You know, Japan is a different, really unique kind of situation. They've been a trade ally ever since the war, and it's been lucrative, with some serious ups and more serious downs, but they remain committed to the idea... However, culturally, they have retained their own identity and very effectively resisted Americanization. Which when you get to really know some people, you find out, culurally this is a temporary arrangement to them. They do not think in as short-term timeframe as United States does, and this post-war deal is expected to end when it has outlived its usefulness. The US cannot realistically be expected to provide defense against a modern expansionist China forever, and Japan has paid a high enough price and fulfilled any sense of obligation for its grandparents actions generations ago.
You get the real sense that Japan is going along with the deteriorating post-war normal, and certainly isn't going to be the first one to overturn it, but when it crumbles, they're already going to be ready for anything, technologically, and owe the US nor anyone else anything. Add to this the deep, deep resentment of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which, they keep fresh in the minds of the people, and whether Russia or China, the first country to breach MAD and send a volley of nukes to the US, Japan will join in wholeheartedly.
