I recently finished my degree in biomedical science majored in hematology have no meaningful job and am currently struggling to pay for food. Clearly it's all our fault for not fixing the broken economy job and housing markets.

The problem with the US isn't with bad credit. It's the fact that there are institutions, such as Wells Fargo, or private loaners, who use people's misfortunes to make a profit.
If I used 50k to make a risky investment, and lose all that money, would you feel bad for me? So why feel bad for creditors when they don't make a return on their student loans? They know the risk, that's why rates are so high. Them losing money on a high risk investment will make me lose no sleep. Also, most of the western world has free or silly cheap schooling, it's just America and Australia that have outrageous costs and are at risk of bubbles bursting.

As we've experienced in 2008, everything is related to everything, especially when it comes to an advanced financial economy.
Your last point on free/cheap schooling is definitely a good one and widely debated in terms of how it can possibly be implemented in the US. I can tell you that not a single govt. official or candidate has come up with a proposal that would work here in the US. It would also likely only impact community colleges and some state schools. Those obtaining degrees from such programs will absolutely be less competitive in the job market given the increased supply that would occur. We also have to consider that every government program is poorly managed, plain and simple, so there will be waste of tax dollars to implement such a program.

Every generation is worst than the last one, as societies become more and more developed the population becomes more entitled, pampered and lazy. When I think of Millennials I tend to think of the people I know who have zero what I like to call "man skills". I.e. they can't change their own oil, replace parts on their car that don't require special tools (alternator, fuel pump, etc), can't install a light switch, don't know how to grill meat, can't construct simple structures from wood like a swing set or maybe a shed or something, if lost in the woods would die long before they starve to death, etc.
