It's so easy to demonstrate the earth is flat. Just watch a ship sail away. At one point, the ship will begin to "sink" under the horizon line, instead of keeping on shrinking. That means there's a curve, and going sufficiently far away, you can actually calculate that curve and estimate the size of the Earth.
