Am I alone in here?
Anyone have that one with the mare who is forced to eat her foals but thinks she's just protecting them in her stomach

Lurking.
I'm on my phone so I can't contribute.
Sorry mate but keep going.

I know the one you're talking about. Give me a few minutes. I think I might have it.

Guess I might as well stop posting...

Gonna repost this from the last thread, because I feel like this never got answered:
Suppose one manages to modify the fluffies' DNA so that it can pick up any language they're exposed to. Then you have, I dunno, five of these modified fluffies. Keep them isolated from one another, and have them all learn to speak different languages. In my example, let's have them learn the major Romance languages (Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian). Obviously there'll be some phonetic corruption due to their inherent speech impediments, but linguistically speaking, they should all be different from one another (especially the Romanian-speaking fluffy, due to Slavic influence).
Then one day, you introduce all five of these Romance fluffies to one another. How, I ask, would they react? Would they construct a basic pidgin? Or would they just give up, cry, and never speak to one another?

They would all have their programmed base language and would likely revert to that because they would speak their second languages barely at all, even after long training. Maybe they would retain some individual words they had learned.
If in an alternate universe fluffies were released with different languages they would eventually establish rudimentary communication by learning from eachother. They would however never establish a new language because each baby is born with a serviceable language it can fall back on and the low efficiency they have at learning when left to their own devices (general fluffy shenanigans).

And that's the last page of that particular story.
>>706759656
>released with different languages
>baby is born with a serviceable language it can fall back on
Sure, but that serviceable language would be different for each foal. Unless you're saying they'd have their default pidgin in addition to learning the other languages. In which case, yes, they'd figure out what they had in common pretty quickly (for a fluffy) and revert to it.
But if we assume they can learn languages quickly but have no "default", what then?
>>706759656
Additionally interbreeding between alternate language versions might interfere with language as it is genetically programmed into them. A mixed heritage foal might effectively lose part of its vocabulary by having it jumbled, or just from using words from another language its mother and siblings doesn't know.
Theoretically a genetically mixed language population could form, but it would be basically random wich percentage of vocabulary any two fluffies have in common.
This would increase stress in the group and increase mental workload, so fluffies would be naturally driven to separate. Mortality would increase accordingly.
All in all there is some story potential to be had.
>>706760685
Assuming they learn naturally and with an accelerated rate and assuming they don't die or separate due to drama they would develop a new mixed language. You could watch a language form and easily study it over multiple fluffy generations. It would be highly interesting as an experiment.
Alright, I'll post a couple more to try and get the ball rolling -_-
>>706761372
Ultimately the language thing is up to author headcanon. Feel free to make up your own.
>>706761481
>>706762084
It is also possible that fluffies would lazily fall back on body language, it would be largely dependent upon temperament and how hands on the researchers approach is in keeping the fluffies interacting in a certain way.
Apropos experiments there are some stories on the booru regarding the recreation of classical psychological experiments with fluffies. Don't have a link but I can recommend those.
I'm talking to myself now aren't I?

More or less, yeah....

odd question, but is there cannon as to why litterpals live for more than a day or two at all? my thoughts: fluffies eat/shit a lot because they only digest a small portion of the nutrients. this is why a litterpal can live a few weeks before infection takes over. that and they may have really decent immune systems having been genetically maufactured.
>>706767810
Im here guys dont worry
Gotta ask, but does anyone have the story about some scientists beating the world record for longest living fluffy? I remember it being a good one, along with another story regarding the fluffys segregated by warm and cool colors in micro gel?
I think the second one was done by Darth maracas if that helps
