I have recurring dreams of being in the dark and not being able to get the lights on. It's not really a nightmare, but the atmosphere is always very "off" and tense.
Usually if I turn on a light, or find a flashlight, they come on with that super dull brown glow a light gets when the batteries are almost dead so they barely illuminate anything so I still can't see shit.

same. I remember one time an Atlas Moth went flying into our classroom when I was in elementary.
The damn thing looked like it really struggled to fly because of it's fat body and what seemed like really thick wings.
I freaked the fuck out and thew my notebook at the damn thing but missed, then quickly ran away from the school and walked home.
The next day I crept the classroom very early and checked every nook and cranny to be sure the moth was gone. It was gone.
Apparently, when I threw the notebook, I hit my professor on the head pretty hard. I was about to get reprimanded but I explained as much as I could why the atlas moth freaked me out. Thankfully he was understanding enough and just let it slide.
I've only ever seen these fucking atlas moths around 4 times in my life. That experience in the classroom was the only one with it flying. The others were times when the moth was either getting eaten by ants or just not flying, clinging to the bumpers of cars or tree trunks.
