I tried out the enhanced edition a while back.. Pretty good considering the hoops you have to jump through to get the original game to work.
If you like baldur's gate though, you should really try the sequel. It's better in almost every way, seriously. The main villian in that game is voiced by the bad guy from the original tron and he's a pretty amazing voice actor, it makes the character so much more compelling. At least more so than "giant evil black armor doom guy"
Plus, even if you don't finish bg1 you will pick up the entire story from the second one.

True. Though to be honest I do like games you have to put time into. They always feel like way more of an accomplishment to get thrhough. I can't wait for them to make enhanced eiditons of icewind dale 2 though. That one was probably my second favorite of all the infinity engine games. The things you could do with classes and races oh man. I was rocking a drow sorcerer/monk for a while.
