Color of skin isn't the only difference between different people but let's concentrate on that and talk about racism. There are biological reasons for racism that trace back to our survival instinct but we can also view racism as a social phenomena, because we have the ability to reason with our biological urges and suppress them, if we want to. Now racism has become a social construct that affects human interaction but the underlying natural phenomena, i.e. different skin colors, exists with or without racism.
Do you see the difference? A social phenomenon based on our perceived rational thinking with a corresponding natural phenomenon is called a social construct.
