Traverse is made in Finland too. Very few Suunto products are actually made elsewhere. Got a bit unlucky, because right after I bought this, they released the Alpha version, which has red backlight and sapphire glass. Would have been better for my use.
I'd personally go with Elementum Terra Steel over Kailash but that's just because I like ascetic things. Get the copper one.

Both the books are far better than the movies imo, they include so much more of the background both about culture and religion. The Finnish customer service is great but I don't think you're Finnish. I had a Core previously and broke the top right button. Banged the watch on something.
I'll stick with my Traverse. Seems to be a few magnitudes above Core in terms of build quality and I suspect it also beats the Vector. At least the ones I've fondled in store were quite a bit more plastic feeling. Seen quite a few soldiers wear various Suuntos here. Shame that yours didn't last. Traverse has endured all reserve exercises thus far. I suspect the screen will get a few scratches eventually. Sapphire glass wasn't available, when I got this.
If all else fails, at least G-Shock will endure. I wore one during my service and it looks pretty bad afterwards but it's still working. I have a good feeling about this Traverse but only time will tell.

A small crown would be seen. Still a descent looking fake. How's the second had moment? Smooth or twitchy? Traverse is actually smaller than Vector. Vector only looks smaller, because it's not as blocky.
Understandable decision though, if you've had bad experiences. I also considered switching brands after my Core broke but decided to give them a second change. Thus far I'm happy with my decision but I haven't had this watch long enough to say anything in-depth about the build quality. Only that it's better than Core.
I wish Suunto would release a watch specifically designed for military use. For example the compass irritates me, because we use non-standard 6000 MRAD compasses here and that setting isn't available on the watch. Red backlight is essential but is only available on Traverse Alpha, sapphire glass is only used on some models. Bluetooth sync between watches would be an interesting option but on the other hand, having waypoints and other mission critical information in your watch is pretty stupid, in case you get caught.

The Dive Master is an overall well-built piece. Had it for 3 years now. The fit and finish is really nice. However, it's kinda heavy, built like a tank but manages to look sleek and the lume isn't that great (which is odd for a diving watch). Worked well when scubaing, stayed water tight. The rubber strap fits well, but was designed to fit over a wetsuit. Gets kinda uncomfortable against skin (so I replaced it, screw bars were a bitch to remove). Claims 1000m WR, but not an ISO-certified diving watch and I'm not about to test it. In the end, it's designer watch using Swiss parts built by a contract manufacturer that also makes other Swiss watches. Looks good but has some questionable design choices for intended application.

FusedAlti combines barometric and GPS data for better accuracy but there really isn't a better way to implement the altimeter than measuring atmospheric pressure, if you don't have GPS in your watch. Need for constant calibration is a common problem for all pressure altimeters.

The early runs had the ETA 7750 movement (ubiquitous Swiss auto chrono movement for many mid-high end watches).
I ended up with one of the last batches made using SW500 movements (7750 clones made by Sellita, a contract manufacturer for ETA). Was also the year that Bulova discontinued the Accutron line and launched their own Accu-Swiss brand without the see-through back (so you can't see that they use Sellita clones).

If you are looking for one, or any other Momodesign watches, don't be suckered into paying full retail for it. They usually come out with a new design series every 1-2 years and the unsold ones get dumped for bargain-bin prices at online retailers like jomashop. Got mine for like $260, which is a bargain for a ETA 2824/2-based watch with anti-reflective sapphire glass.
