I took a year off adderall. It felt great at first, I felt all free and light and Shit. But I basically just slacked off and backslid for a year at work. Shits not getting done, work piles up, due dates fly by, I get in trouble a lot more. Going back to the doc tomorrow. Some people I know have had success using a beta blocker to mitigate the anxiety so I'm going to ask about that.

Wait until you are 18, go to doctor, tell him you need help concentrating in school because you can never focus on one task for too long and get easily sidetracked. He might talk a little and so if you have to just straight up ask for it. That is what I did, said I wanted to try adderall because it is suppose to help with concentration. He started me on 20mg extended release. That was about 2 years ago, I am now taking 40mg everyday with about 120 extra pills from the summer when I didn't take any at all.

I have a hunch that the generic XRs may be shoddy but I don't know. If you're prescribed it for ADHD it's not supposed to have a kick, it's supposed to make you feel normal. i was diagnosed with ADHD when i was very young. my parents would not put me on any type of medication. i gotta say school was rough (mainly elementary) but my parents took a different rout. behavioural correction. i went to a special tutor twice a week to help with math/english an a large part of it was dealing with ADHD without medication. i gotta say it really does help. i remember having to sit in a chair facing someone for like an hour. you weren't supposed to move, scratch, yawn, anything. they teach you focus instead of giving you speed. people who have ADHD dont really have a problem with learning, they learn differently. for me learning is more of a hands on thing, i have to do it/see it

My parents tried a lot of stuff but medication + growing up and working on my issues were good enough to be functioning okay without medication. It's just that you forget so many things and lack structure in your personal space while you are ultra structured in professional settings (at least for the first few months)

When I was small my folks started me on Concerta, then switched me to Adderall XR cuz the concerta gave me bad mood swings. The Adderall didnt work as well, so they tried Vyvanse, and I've taken it every day since. 40 mgs now, but the shit wears off after 6 hours, so at 3 and 6 i take 10mg generic adderall. Shit's nice. The fast acting adderall is incredibly noticable: 30 minutes +/- 5 after I take it, I suddenly start focusing again, and 2 hours +/- 15 minutes after that I notice that I've zoned out. I dont feel the effects, but I notice changes in how often I zone out.

I imagine the doc will ask how the medicine is working. Say that there is some improvement, and give an example of that improvement. Then mention how the effects seem to wear off at the end of your workday, when you need it for the work you take home, etc.
i'm not sure what type of work you do. if you're a student, it's a harder sell. if you work a tough job and often work after the office is "closed," the "wearing off" rationale should work.

i feel concerta is much more steady but the generic had higher peaks and valleys.
only doing it because i don't feel 36mg is strong enough, i don't know how to split concerta tablets, but the teva generics look easy. seems to work
