On another note about monkeys, they have been evolving as well. How else do you explain subspecies? A gorilla is a gorilla, but you have to distinct species, the western gorilla and the eastern gorilla. Each of these groups further break down into other subspecies that have evolved to the habitat they live in I.e lowland gorillas and mountain gorillas. An example of recent evolution would be mosquitos in the London underground. They turned from one species to an other due to evolution (and the underground isn't that old). Mosquitos from overground and underground can't procreate anymore.
With humans this won't happen, cause we all change together, as nobody is isolated enough, but when humans still live on this planet in a few million years, those humans would be different to us to the point, that we might not be able to procreate anymore (but of course our "humans" wouldn't be around anymore).

When a species evolves it happens because of some trait that is desirable to it's survivability happened to appear by mutation is some individuals of said species. Those with the desirable traits had a better chance of surviving and spread the mutated genes through the next generations of offspring. Eventually the ones who didn't mutate died out, this process happens a fuckload of times until those mutations are major enough to qualify those individuals as a different species (i.e. they can't procreate with the original ones). We don't have a bunch of fucking Homo Erectus walking around cause they kept mutating until they became Homo Sapiens (and eventually Homo Sapiens Sapiens - us). What we do have is fossils and enough similarities between us and apes to know that a long time ago it was all one species.
