I have my gun license, I own a single barrel 12 gauge and a weatherby vanguard s2 .223
The process to get your license I will admit is a bit of a pain in the ass it takes about 2 months for the application to go through (which isn't a big deal if you aren't in a rush to kill someone) general public can only apply for what they call an "a and b long arms" license which is any single barrel, double barrel shotgun, bolt action, lever action, rifles
If you want semi automatic you have to apply for an " a, b and c long arms license" but to get that it has to be for eithe a business purpose or if you own a farm and need it for pest control
As for hand guns, it is near impossible to get one, you can only acquire one if you are a member of a pistol club and you have to be a member of that club for atleast one year, and compete in competition atleast 10 times a year, using a pistol owned by the club and after that you can buy your own handgun, but to keep that hand gun you have to compete 10 times every year in competition
All firearms no matter what class MUST be kept in an approved gun safe
Police do random checks on all firearms owners homes without warning to check that you a complying
In all honesty it is a good system, as we have near no firearm related murders and have had 0 mass shootings since the laws were brought in

I prefer 12 gauge riot shotguns and 10-22 with 100 round drum and bump fire stock. It's basically fully auto. The bigger caliber guns are over rated. Everyone cries stopping power.
