I've never watched MLP either, but fluffy verse wise those two are breeding mares because of their unique coloring patterns.
Which means as soon as their foals are able to be safely weaned they are taken away and sold.
The dark one has had this happen many times, which is why she is begging for a foal for her own.

While his artwork isn't as good as McGonnagal or dust_collector or even Wolfram Sparks, his fluffies are very expressive and look more horse-like than most.
His stories are a decent balance between "humans are psychotic Cluster B freaks without forgiveness or mercy" and "fluffies are evil and deserve nothing but sorrow." The storylines evoke a good amount of fluffy misery and anguish, partially due to humans and partially due to the stupidity and bad behavior of the fluffies.
