Wich graphic crard are you using and wich new games can you run in 60 fps
980ti sc+ acx2.0+ I can run pretty much everything at 1080p max settings and get 60 fps.
The problem is that 60 fps is for plebs, and I need to run my games at 144hz these days to not feel sickened at the low framerate. I can run most games at 144fps 1080p with some settings lowered so it's all good.
GeForce FX5200. Can run CoD 2 in directx9, absolutely rocks quake 3 and serious sam. I can run Half Life 2 pretty well, and cs 1.6 never drops below 35fps.
I have quite a few games that the second card doesn't use. 1 card is better if you're spending all in one go. If it makes sense to spend half as much now and a second card later, sli/xfire makes more sense
still, if game doesn't support SLI, i just can disable one card, and play on one 980. I'm don't going to buy "one powerful" card, cuz imo 980 is still pretty powerful, maybe next year I will buy 1080
It's a pretty good monitor. It's a TN panel so you won't get the best colors or contrast ratio or viewing angles, but other than that it's fine for gaming if that's your main purpose
GTX 960 4GB VRAM. Bottlenecked by my shitty Phenom II X4 Black Edition. Can still play Mortal Kombat X, GTA V, and Resident Evil Remake on High to Ultra with very minor stuttering. Can't complain, I suppose.
GTX 960 it runs The Witcher 3 on ultra with hair works and all. Feels really smooth.
Got a HD3000 on a dual core macbook 2011. Use it mainly for Photoshop. Tried to edit a 2 min. clip in After effects. Rendering took just a bit over 2 and a half hours... Feels bad man...
970 isn't that great of a buy at this time given Nvidia's habit of gimping previous generation cards to prop up the newest cards.
If you pick one up cheap, sure, but I would rather pick up a 1060 or a RX 480 as they are both in similar price ranges.
Well I'm not going to make a webm of it being validated in Firestrike to appease you. But I can tell you it's my daily driver setting for most everything
What the fuck did you just say about me you little bitch?
Jokes aside, I am not shitting you. It works flawlessly. Could be just my i5 4600 makes it work like that. Also, I play on a 1920x1080 screen, but I have a 1280x1024 monitor connected to the graphics card at all times.
runs most games well above 60fps and I'm totally loving my new pg279q cause nothing is worse than screen tearing
Take it back apart and make sure the compound looks like it spread properly. Also, if there is a copper block where it meets the gpu, make sure its not bent away from where it will meet the gpu and causing excessive space.
Those old 69xx cards did run warm, so any loss of cooling efficiency will make them run hot.
If you're running dual/multi monitors, they will idle warm, but in the 60s seems pretty warm.
gtx 960 - runs gta v on mostly high at solid 60
I'm not a big gamer and running stuff on medium/high is perfectly fine for me and certainly not worth double the price for higher quality textures flying past me faster than i can focus on anyway.
Are you going 4k? I've got a friend who bought a 4k monitor and has a 980ti. He plays rainbow six siege a lot but cant even get it to play on highest settings, when he does turn them down I noticed a lot of screen tearing but he seems to live with it ok. Me personally I cant stand it and that's the reason I bought a monitor with gsync and also with 1440p
first up you gotta tell your friend not to play rainbow six siege because its fucking trash
sometimes i have some screentearing in ark survivle which i hardly never play but i wouldnt recommend him to upgrade the difference isnt that great
i bought it because my gtx 469 was getting a little old
Here's a very easy formula:
1060 - 60 points
1070 - 90 points = Costs 30% more than 1060
1080 - 120 points = Costs 60% more tahn 1060
All three are accepable, but 1070 is future proof, but the 1080 is the master, but still overkill. If you have a budget, go for the 1070.
For all those talking about g-sync - its a lie. there is no need for g sync. I have a 144hz Acer and my friend has the Acer predator g-sync version. There is very little between the 2, and I have yet to experience screen tare
