Flawless
>>702663169
Oh shit. Definitely a god tier movie, if not the best movie.
>>702663428
>Best
The godfather is still a better crime film, and a better film in general
>>702663596
No it's not
>>702663596
Not him but that's not say Goodfellas isn't a great film in its own right.
The Godfather movies are the fucking Godfather movies. It's not fair for any movie to be compared to them, they are (mostly) masterpieces.
>>702663596
While the Godfather is god tier, Goodfellas blew me away the first time I saw it. Nothing else I've ever seen comes close.
Hope you like weird 70s scifi
>>702663854
Obvs you haven't seen "the usual suspects"

>>702665248
But not as much as I love you.
>>702665248
Maybe, but Good Will Hunting, Argo, and Gone Girl are all good films.
If you don't like it you probably didn't get it.

I know this is probably a troll, but it wasn't that deep, the psudeo-phsyics and logic break down at a certain point. Still a good film though.

The only problem I had with The Dark Night is that it was one segment too long.
The martian

Rise of the footsoldier

>>702668490

>>702668604
The first movie is so much better than the sequels though.
Prometheus, while beautiful, wasn't anywhere near as good.
I hold out hope for the new one still.
>>702668599
Thanks. I'll check it ootsky.
>>702668624
It's worth the watch, and fucking hillarious

Some films are like songs. Memories float to the surface and confirm our comfort. I feel the same way about a lot of films. Drugstore Cowboy.
>>702665575
I found Good Will Hunting to be schlocky libtard bullshit. Unwatchable.
>>702669108
>>702668746
I know where you are coming from, both are different and can't be compared. I cannot say I was happy with Prometheus but its a good fall considering the terrible 3 and 4th release coupled with the versus universe god damn...
I would like to see more like 1 and 2 though. For now just rereading the old comic prints to pass time.
>>702666876
That's an amazing film. The opening scene looked like it was filmed with a hand held 16 mm. While the cameraman was running. 67 minutes. I was exhausted afterwards.
>>702669180
>>702669108
my nigga
>>702669136

Or people with attention spans.
>>702669197
Regarding Alien, which edition do you prefer and why?
I think the 2003 directors cut might be the only one I've seen, as I haven't managed to find a good link for the 1979 theatrical release. Are the others notably different/worth a watch?
>>702666183
Natalie Portman was hot in that one.
>>702669616
Aliens had a kind of disutopian edge that made it almost traumatic when I was younger. It's just the first one I saw.

The Horror. I love this film. Dennis Hopper captures today's journalists.

fun to watch but the 'plottwist' was phoned in halfway through the film and didn't come out as a surprise, ruining somewhat the effect.
This one is not god tier but comfy-good tier. I think it's pretty much impossible to really dislike it even though it has its flaws.

I like and respect that, it's just that the last 10-15 minutes of the movie are spent explaining what you knew already, the movie was good, but the end felt laborious and forced imo.
