Post your top three films and get judged by other anons
1. Thank you for smoking.
2. Das Leben der Anderen
3. Team America!
2.) True Romance
3.) Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
I swear, I didn't add 3 because of Gene Wilder's death, that movie's always been a favorite of mine.
For fun, I'll throw in as #4: Top Gun
Not necessarily in that order
Platoon is awesome.
I saw it when I was way to young, and it scared the shit out of me. Now the scene that fucked me up is like nothing--yeah, still fucked up, but doesn't disturb me.
Anyway, it's a wicked movie. Very well done.
Acopalypse Now is still my top Vietnam War movie though.
wow so much anger from this community of thirsty neckbirds lol
just ignore all of the haters OP, they are all insecure little boys that don't know how to talk to a woman.
Do me a favor and reject all of the adds that you are receiving now because honestly, it's most likely not going to end well, they will harass you and bully you but I won't let that happen.
Add me on skype (hitman90001)
you can use my shoulder to cry on or we can just talk about life heh.. :P
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Dances with Wolves
Colossus: The Forbin Project
Scent of a woman
The Shawshank redemption
North by northwest
1: Iron Giant
2: Iron Giant
3: Iron Giant
> No Iron Giant
Saving private Ryan
007 series...minus a couple shitty ones
Platoon was shot outside manchester because of Kubricks flight fobia. They litteraly trasnported 100's of palmtrees to UK. The only shots in Nam are helicopter flying over fields shots
Blood in Blood out
>no one likes usual suspects
1. pulp fiction
2. usual suspects
3. blade runner
>The Raid 2
>Saving Private Ryan
Decent taste, but why Reservoir Dogs? I feel like that is one of Tarentino's worst.
That's good, Usual Suspects is underrated
Kind of edgy
I like you
Lawrence of Arabia
is the supreme of all films, you all lose by default in comparison to its glorious majesty:
The two Linklater films are great, however, Apocalypto is hyperbolic trash.
Wow, this has to be b8
Pseudo-film buff. Casino is one of Scorsese's worst pictures. It rides off of the same dramatic flares and dialogue style as Goodfellas but always falls short. Animal House is great though.
For one, its called "The Matrix: Revolutions" and it is also a completely convoluted piece of shit. On top of that, you listed Suicide Squad.. you my friend are a pleb.
American Beauty and The Fifth Element are both competent films, Dodgeball is not funny or in any way good.
The Shining and Apocalypse Now are both pure Kino. Pulp Fiction is an overrated picture that any serious film fan will accuse of kleptomania (and rightfully so). Do yourself a favour and watch all those movies that Tarantino references throughout his career, they are all infinitely better. Afterwards, you'll never want to see a QT film again.
>When Mcconaughey started acting in serious and artful films, that's when he sold out. Not the many rom-coms he starred in beforehand.
How can you follow up a Masterpiece like "Throne Of Blood" with Valkyrie and Titanic?
All definitive and seminal works of cinema. This is the best list in the thread. Keep watching the greats my man!
This guy gets it.
2/3. Taxi Driver may well be the best Scorsese picture. It's certainly the best thing Schrader has ever done.
Decent list, my opinion on Irreversible is constantly changing (though that may be a good thing). The 400 Blows is one the unparalleled works of the French New Wave.
1/3. Schindler's List is an unforgivable travesty of filmmaking. The only acceptable films based on the Holocaust are Alain Resnais' "Night and Fog" and Claude Lanzmann's "Shoah".
2.the green mile
they were already in Godfather 2 together. why do people like Heat so much? all that they really say is "i'm a bad guy" "i'm a good guy" "i'll escape when I can" "i'll catch you if I can" and the scene is over
1.- Empire Strikes Back
2.- The Matrix
3.- Back to the future
Back to the Future
Back to the Future Part II
Back to the Future Part III
>The Grand Budapest Hotel
>3.Life of Brian
>-the big Lebowski
>2. One flew over the cuckoo's nest
>3. Terminator 1
>2. usual suspects
>3. blade runner
>Throne of blod
>Das Leben der Anderen
I'm smarter and more tasteful than anyone else in this thread so take it from me, these films are the creme de la creme in this thread.
not necessarily in said order
>League of Supreme Gentlemen
>1. Scott Pilgrim vs The World
>2. Moonrise Kingdom
>3. The Prestige
>45 year old detected
>Saving Private Ryan
>Romancing the stone
>Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back
>Transformers: The Movie (1986)
1. Dancer in the Dark by Lars Von Trier.
2. Mean Streets by Martin Scorsese.
3. Reservoir Dogs by Quentin Tarantino.
Granted, Casino was just Scorsese doing Goodfellas again 5 years on, but it has it's high points like Pesci's narration being interrupted as he's killed.
And if we're talking about a film riding on the coat tails of Goodfellas The wolf of Wallstreet was structured exactly the same. It's like Scorsese waited 23 years and it went over the heads of the millennials.
Leon is okay. I find it super fucking ironic how near the beginning when Gary Oldman is destroying fatties family with his Mossberg, he tells the fattie right before he kills him that he doesn't like Mozart because his work always starts really strong, and then gets kinda boring. Perfect analogy for the fucking movie he said it in.
I remember seeing a list of the most Oscar bait films and I seen Crash, which is in the same vein as Malcolm X,I think.Looked like absolute trash.Have you seen Tetsuo? It's like the Cronenberg film, and is a crazy fucking trip
Irreversible is horrible, yet mesmerizing. The rape seen (prev pic relates) really makes me feel physical sick.
Btw you if you dont think there has been any interestering WWII besides The thin red line, Night & Fog, or Shoah. You really should give the polish guy Andrzej Wajda a try: Ashes and Diamonds
Btw why are you so crazy about Vertigo?
